News Return of the Walt Disney World tram fleet tracker

Correct me where I'm wrong, but aren't the WDW lots designed with the Trams as a primary means of transport, and walkers given secondary consideration in terms of space and organization? It would seem to me putting every guest on foot from the farthest reaches, with strollers and wandering...

News Reflections of Earth confirmed to be replaced by Harmonious

Moving light technology is over 40 years old. I'm not certain I'd refer to this particular test as "impressive". Now, a massive water curtain that makes everyone forgot they're there.... that would be impressive.

Which attraction would you want to be barefoot on least?

I think it closed in the mid-seventies, but "Mickey's Wonderful World of Broken Glass and Rusty Nails" comes to mind. 😁

    Shutdown and attraction maintenance

With the parks operating with bare bones staffing, does anyone have any thoughts on the effect of attractions being inoperative for an extended period of time? I realize that they go down, often for months, for refurbishment from time to time. With so many mechanical systems sitting idle for so...

All boat rides (with the exception of Jungle Cruise) are either currently being drained or will be soon..

I would think that due to the designed guest interaction with water in Kali, it's water is maintained to a higher standard (i.e. chlorination) than the other water based dark rides.

You could lose a hand doing laundry at the turn of the century! This week at Carousel of Progress

Apparently there's some kind of wrist eating bacteria epidemic going on over there... Either that or I know where they got the screw to fix the daughter's hand from. https://chipandco.com/audio-animatronic-character-hand-falls-off-at-carousel-of-progress-379466/

News Disney Characters Say Tourists Inappropriately Touched Them

I would think the female face characters would be getting far worse treatment than the costumed ones.

Disney Skyliner shutdown and evacuation - October 6 2019

I would include some reading materials; like a selection of DVC brochures with an option to be directly connected to a booking agent through the call box.

Disney Skyliner shutdown and evacuation - October 6 2019

Then you'd have a dozen cars taken out of service every day for "dye removal". It's a scientifically proven fact that 17.23% of the population can't walk past a wet paint sign without touching it to be sure. As to an audible alarm, .... imagine beings stuck in a gondola, it's been three hours...

Disney Skyliner shutdown and evacuation - October 6 2019

So in incidents like this, what exactly is the protocol? I assume once a CM mashes the E-Stop button they must remain hands off except to maybe give a safety spiel before calling management, Reedy Creek, etc. So we wait for them to arrive. So who's in charge then? Is there the Disney equivalent...

Disney Skyliner shutdown and evacuation - October 6 2019

Aren't there some sort of PA speakers on the towers themselves? Don't know their intended purpose, but perhaps that could be used to relay information? Of course how well you hear that in the cabins, along with the PR downside of broadcasting the problem around the entire property is an unknown...

Disney Skyliner shutdown and evacuation - October 6 2019

Sweating, per se, is not what cools you off. It is a part of the body's cooling process, but what makes it all work is evaporation. Surface moisture carries away body heat into the drier, surrounding air. Good luck getting that to work efficiently in the warm soup that passes for Central...

News New Gondola Transportation - Disney Skyliner -

Watching some of the videos I was surprised how hot (in terms of speed, not temperature 🤣) the cars come in. I know they slow down and accelerate as they go on and off the cable by design, but that's still a little disconcerting.
