The silence is because the last time they heavily promoted a nighttime show it got cancelled in less than 2 years.
On top of that positive PR was needed because of the issues and conflict leading up to its debut. Luminous's rollout has been way smoother than Harmonious rollout was.
Yes but what makes a good show is HOW that IP is used to tell a story. HEA, Fantasmic, Wishes, and World of Color are all classic shows and they all use IP but it's the WAY they use IP that makes them special. I'm not saying this show is going to be the next Illuminations I don't think Disney...
Yeah I disagree with the idea that this show is "stuffed" with IP. Harmonious was stuffed you could easily argue that. The IP inclusion seems carefully thought about in this one though. They serve an actual purpose in telling the story
A couple weeks ago I was talking about the fact that even in L:SOU ends up being a flop, this show infrastructure could geniunely last them for YEARS. Like I'm honestly impressed with the way Disney thought this one out. Easily comparable to a modern day ROE set-up and could last equally as long...
Getting rid of a show (less than 2 years in) and its infrastructure that cost hundreds of millions of dollars, was advertised and hyped up for 2 straight years as the "biggest nighttime spectacular" they've ever done, and that was said to last at LEAST a decade is, to me, publicly admitting...
That "scaled back" aspect was a single element of the show he himself said he didn't feel like it would change the overall quality of the show just that it sucked not having whatever we were supposed to get. You keep saying the show was dramatically scaled back like we were supposed to get a WoC...
I'm sure an insider will come through eventually and prove me wrong on this but I highly doubt we'll ever see Epcot Forever again. If any other shows other than L:SOU plays over that lagoon within this decade it's going to be an updated ROE.
*definitely
Show is locked in for that date. Everything is pretty much done besides the centerpiece and people already making reservations for dinner bookings
