Until Soarin around the world came around, I didn’t actually know the attraction at Epcot was Soarin over California. And imagine a lot of other people felt the same, that Soarin was just a great attraction and not a great Californian attraction.
Tell me about it! Imagine bringing back that overblown, outclassed, worn out, nostalgia bait of empty flashiness and trotting its archaic shell back into the park.
And I guess bringing EO back would be weird too
In my opinion, yes it is a classic.
Is that opinion clouded by the fact it was my favourite attraction as a kid? Probably. But I still think it stands on its own. There are some definite issues with it, (projection tunnel, mounted blasters, maintenance problems) but the attraction itself is...
The Carousel Of Progress Family's last name is Adams. In Act 3 on the wall in Jimmy's room, there is a school certificate for good grades, it is written out to Jimmy Adams.
I'm all for more attractions, and I would even be happy with a new mini-land beyond Big Thunder.
I think Villains Land wouldn't live up to its potential in the rumours allotted space. But hey, it could work.
But no Frontierland? That's about 4 bridges too far
It’s photos like these that make me nostalgic for 2011 when my biggest worry was if I should ride SSE or go into Art of Disney before my fastpass for Test Track.
Removing Muppet Vision 3-D, effectively ending the muppets presence in DHS and also ending Magic Eye as a concept make both parks weaker.
Barring just bringing back Captain EO, I’ve thought they should put a film about the history of Imagineering or history of Epcot Imagineering specifically...
They couldn’t possibly get rid of the Pyramids! That would be like getting ride of the Castle, or Space Mountain or Splash Mounta… oh no
But in all seriousness I pray we get to keep the pyramids when it does come times for a full ride replacement. One of the most iconic sights in all of Epcot.
DHS definitely had a lot of problems in 2014 but I feel like for me on the whole, the recent additions have ranged from
"This is objectively worse" to "it's okay I guess"
GMR to MMRR is a downgrade in my opinion
Art of Animation to Launch Bay is a huge downgrade
And the continued watering down...
I’m gonna be completely honest, I am one of these people. If they closed Carousel Of Progress, Or Tiki Room, Or Pirates, or Spaceship Earth it doesn’t really matter what comes next. I’m gonna be resentful for it removing a classic. Splash is on that list and joins ranks with other hall of famers...
Splash and most other classic Disney attractions worked so well because it was self contained. You could go in having no knowledge and you will come out knowing pretty much what happened. I have never low expectations TBA will be 1/10 as clear and concise.
Simply retelling PATF while not ideal...
