News Disney After Hours return January 2023

Um, except for that happened naturally on late nights when the park closing was not unnaturally early to paying guests… for decades. What you are describing is called double-dipping. Closing the park early making people pay to see it at night is double dipping. Also after hours time in the...

News Disney After Hours return January 2023

So I shouldn’t mention the decades of the parks being open until at least 11 p.m. and sometimes midnight or even 1 a.m. to all guests…. for no extra fee. Not to mention with a night-time parade run twice. Right? Right? Sigh.

New Enhancements, Dining Options Coming to Disney’s BoardWalk

Sadly too true, I think. And even sadder given the opportunity to look back at that amazing history that has been provided by WDW’s 50th and now the company’s 100th.

Trail’s End Restaurant closing this Spring to reopen with a new concept

Yes. When it was a buffet, it was delicious and laid back. All of the food without the cost of the character breakfasts.

Really loved it as a buffet. Best breakfast on property. And the the theming was fantastic - like the rest of FW. Hope that stays.

New Enhancements, Dining Options Coming to Disney’s BoardWalk

Eddie Sotto was right. They don’t even try any more. It’s not supposed to be Marriott. It’s supposed to be a turn of the 20th century Atlantic City Boardwalk themed hotel. But looks like they are making a Marriott as fast as they can.

The World's Most Magical Celebration - Walt Disney World's 50th anniversary

Yep. I almost planned to be there. Thought it would have been like the 25th (which had a special parade and televised program with dignitaries including the First Lady in front of the castle). They forgot how to do that, I think. Just put a logo on cheap merchandise and charge a fortune.

The World's Most Magical Celebration - Walt Disney World's 50th anniversary

The saddest part is that they created better 50th anniversary collectibles for Amazon than they did to sell in their own parks. showed WDW 50th anniversary commemorative Country Bear plus and other items that were exclusive to Amazon. You can’t even get them in the parks. Makes...

News Kona Cafe at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort closing for refurbishment this summer

Not sure how much this cafe will change yet, but sadly, I think you are right on the overall direction that Disney is taking on all of the major renovations on property. They are going more for the Marriott feel than anything distinctively themed to take you to a new world. We’ll see how the...

It appears that Angela Lansbury of “Beauty and the Beast” has passed away

Sad news from local NBC station. Angela Lansbury, the wonderful stage and screen actress that is probably best known here as the voice of the teapot and singer of the title song of “Beauty and the Beast,” has passed away, according to reports. She was a truly remarkable actress, whose other...

    Epcot's 40th Anniversary

From a small child first visiting in 1972, I was inspired mostly by the monorails and Walt’s dream of a place of innovation, which was so well documented in the movie on Main Street, USA, “The Walt Disney Story,” which ended with a look forward to this place called “EPCOT” that was the true...

They need to bring the Mickey bottles back. Definitely.

    News H2O+ products shutting down???

I liked the resort-specific little bottles they used to have, and when they had Mickey ears for tops. Perfect for Disney resorts. I hope they get that kind of thing back.

Guide to DLR for WDW Veterans!

Don't forget that D23 is Sept. 9-11, with all of the biggest Disney fans in attendance. I have already noticed that Saturday, September 11, is already sold out at both parks. (It is also an Ooogie Boogie night in DCA and the first night of Halloween fireworks at DL.) So, the normal...

Toy Story Land expansion announced for Disney's Hollywood Studios

What a cheap design! Painted pictures on flat walls instead of wooden walls and sculpted a furnishings that would more fit Jessie’s theme.

News Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind Virtual Queue and Lighting Lane status

Remember when Disney made people-eating attractions and you just waited in a modest, fast-moving and entertaining, if lengthy, line after paying regular admission?
