Disney's Live Action The Little Mermaid

1 of those went to theaters precovid, and you were also careful to not list the other 2 that came out in 2019 which were remakes of very popular animated films. We will see in a few months.

Disney's Live Action The Little Mermaid

You can want everyone to get sick of it, but all the ones based on those super popular animations have done big numbers. I'll be surprised if this doesn't do incredibly well.

Disney's Live Action The Little Mermaid

It's not easy money with a different mermaid. Say what you want, this movie is going to make a lot of money without having to do much. It's a low risk movie for them. I don't like these live action remakes (or whatever they are called), but people keep showing up for them.

News Disney World Cast Member unions to begin week of negotiations for wage increases, healthcare costs and more

Nah, not mad at you, hope it didn't come off as that. My point is for the price of raising a cheeseburger from $11.79 to $12.79 and a coke from $3.29 to $4.29, disney could pay half the price of the raise. And if that makes you feel upset, then you really wouldn't care, cause that is the price...

News Disney World Cast Member unions to begin week of negotiations for wage increases, healthcare costs and more

Now come on. THIS is going to result in price hikes? THIS? Maybe the excuse is thrown out there for this to cause it, but lets be real, they have been astronomically increasing prices since Iger took over at least, and finding new and sneakier ways to do so. The amount needed to be hiked to...

    News Animal Kingdom 25th Anniversary

I mean Bronx is $34 for an adult and $24 for a kid, so closer to $29/person for a family. Columbus is $28. Dallas zoo is around $18. Atlanta is around $23. Philly is around $20. Denver is $21. I'd say $25 is a pretty reasonable estimate (San Diego aside).

Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance

As someone who pushed big on that a pool should be there, I never said that made it a failure. The whole point was that could be a defining feature and that it was a missed opportunity if this was to be like a cruise. I thought the potential failure revolved around the price and that there...

Disney's Live Action The Little Mermaid

Oh, I thought they were making the case they reimagines arent good but they hope this one will be, and based on the trailer I assumed this was a remake as well (so assumed the two terms wer being used as equal meanings). I actually like the reimaginings if that's what we are calling them to an...

Disney's Live Action The Little Mermaid

And as much as I HATED the new Beauty and the Beast, didn't it make like over $1 billion? I think they meant "None have even closely succeeded yet FOR ME."

News Bob Iger outlines the need to transform the Walt Disney Company resulting in 7000 job losses and $5.5 billion in cost savings

See I disagree. I think you could have said the same thing about Guardians and Ant Man and Dr. Strange (as far as casual fans knowing them). But they integrated. You got their story in the midst of other stories, and they came together quickly. I honestly think that is what is missing. You...

News Bob Iger outlines the need to transform the Walt Disney Company resulting in 7000 job losses and $5.5 billion in cost savings

I'm not sure if there's a limit, but I do think if you want to go more fringe, there needs to be a larger concentration on the characters throughout. Before phase 4, it was really 2 years max between seeing characters. Now, counting End Game as the last time we saw most of these characters...

    News Re-Usable Bag Price Increases

I'd say there is a caveat to that though. I know personally, when I've gone to disney/disney store, when they tell me to buy one, I say I'll just carry it. Same with like the grocery if I forget my bags, I'll just dump stuff into the car and bag from the car when I get home because I don't...

    News Re-Usable Bag Price Increases

Yeah I agree with you. Has anyone posted any actual science to back this claim up? All I've seen in the journals with my quick checks is that it's much greener using metal.

News Bob Iger outlines the need to transform the Walt Disney Company resulting in 7000 job losses and $5.5 billion in cost savings

Honestly I don't think coming back in was the original plan when he did his farewell tour. I do think he wanted chapek to look bad to make people rewrite his legacy. I think the chance to white knight just kind of fell into his lap and he used his minions to make it happen.

Ah, you forgot option 3. More mass produced food and eliminating the need to taste test with a spoon.

That's interesting, did the others include the broadcasts as well? I honestly don't recall ever seeing that footnote.

Disney's Live Action The Little Mermaid

I guess I just associate the Academy with the same nonsense explanations that critics use in their writeups that bother me. Whatever, I understand many enjoy them and it's not for me, and since Oscar talk has probably gone on WAY too long here anyways, I'll leave it at what I said previously...

Disney's Live Action The Little Mermaid

World Series has had one game in the last 5 years that was above the Oscars viewership this year, with the average around 7 million less people. It would take quite a lot for it to happen. The world cup would also need about a 30% jump in it's highest ever viewership. I hate the Oscars in no...

Disney's Live Action The Little Mermaid

Things don't change if everything succeeds. If they close the park at 4:00 and charge the same amount, I don't think it's wrong to want it to fail so they open back up through the night. Yes, some seem to go way too far, but I don't think the concept is totally wrong.
