'Strange World' Disney's 2022 Animated Film

That’s part of what forums are for. I complain a lot over on the Disneyland forum, because I’m an older Disney fan who knows how fantastic Disney has been in the past, and it often frustrates me to see the park and company run by people who just don’t get it and don’t seem to care. A person...

Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway - Disneyland

It’s a D ticket. It’s fun, but it’s flat, shallow, and full of wasted empty space. It’s a ride through large, cold warehouse rooms, with guests watching cartoons projected on the walls. Except for Pluto, the handful of AAs look terrible. But the ride’s still fun.

Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway - Disneyland

At least Pete is a front view of his face. The 3/4 thing with Picasso Mickey and Minnie is an AA freak show. I hate to think what any rejected attempts looked like. 😄

Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway - Disneyland

I dislike the new shorts, but I think the style works ok for this ride. If only they’d replace the talking mylar balloons that are supposed to be Mickey and Minnie AAs…

Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway - Disneyland

I’ve worked as an animator and have a very hefty collection of great classic toons, and a decent knowledge of animation and film history, (indignant huffing) thank you VERY much. 😃 Enough to know when something doesn’t feel right to me. And then I grumble and state my case. I don’t expect...

'Strange World' Disney's 2022 Animated Film

PIBTLW is from a familiar franchise, it’s a sequel featuring a popular character, and a comedy with depth. SW is a new IP in a genre Disney struggles to find initial audiences for, but I hope they keep trying. And PIBTLW is a much bettter movie. SW is good but flawed, while PIBTLW is funnier...

Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway - Disneyland

I think they should add a gigantic Oswald blimp obscuring the dark void of the vast expanse of warehouse ceiling.

Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway - Disneyland

Thank you; I think this is actually the best possible defense for that gag. Now I can watch the preshow again without grinding my teeth to dust.😄

Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway - Disneyland

To me, the way guests miss story elements in the first and last cars isn’t a re-rideability plus, it’s just poor ride design. Why did they design a track layout where, right at the start, the last two cars don’t get to see the cool moment where Goofy opens the window of the train engine? I like...

No. But that dog-Kickin’ moment is the pits.

Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway - Disneyland

I wouldn’t call it a home run, cause it’s MMRR, but it’s definitely a solid double. I do hate the moment when Minnie kicks Pluto, though. 😄

Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway - Disneyland

In a fictional work, the writer creates the universe. The writer(s?) of the preshow decided it would be a laugh riot to have Minnie Mouse accidentally kick Pluto into a car trunk. Me no like. 😄

Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway - Disneyland

I SAID it was accidental, and that I blame the writers for the mean-spirited moment. I think I’m the only one making a big deal about this. If it weren’t such a blink-and-you’ll miss it moment, I’d call PETA (even though I can’t stand PETA) 😄.

Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway - Disneyland

A hero is a good person who helps others. Kicking an innocent dog is a reprehensible action in any art form, and usually indicates that the perpetrator is a villain, a hayhole, or simply a stupid oaf who deserves a thrashing. Or, in this case, Minnie Mouse, now appearing as a sweet park mascot...

And more and better AAs. And something to fill all the empty overhead space. I agree it could be plussed into a genuine E ticket.

Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway - Disneyland

When I rode it at WDW, the high, visible warehouse ceilings and empty, cold space everywhere certainly didn’t help the ride. It’s one of the main reasons that, while I generally enjoy MMRR, I find it kinda lifeless and literally flat and shallow. I don’t think it’s an E ticket.

Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway - Disneyland

I guess you haven’t seen many Mickey cartoons, or have a narrow definition of what a hero is. Again, what was accepted in the 1920s is not necessarily appropriate for 2023. We are talking about Pluto being kicked by Minnie Mouse. This is like Charlie Brown kicking Snoopy in a 2023 cartoon. It...

Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway - Disneyland

It’s so strange for people to say that, in 2023, Mickey and Minnie should engage in the same kind of cruelty displayed in the their earliest development. I guess, then they’re saying it’s perfectly great for modern characters/actors to perform offensive actions and jokes from the 1920s...

Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway - Disneyland

Possibly, but that’s always brought up whenever anyone (like me) criticizes the new Mickey cartoons as often being gross and obnoxious.

Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway - Disneyland

There was no outrage because people don’t care. Cruelty and cynicism is the norm in TV animation these days. Haha, Minnie kicked Pluto. Oh, look, now there she is outside the ride, blowing kisses and curtsying. This kind of hypocrisy at Disney just makes me want to throw up. Rest assured, I...
