It sounds like the track needs some resurfacing, mainly at the end where the cars have to hit the brakes. My guess is there were problems with the cars sliding too far on a wet track.

I ran into this statue of Lincoln across the street from Westminster Abbey on a trip to England last year. It surprised me to see American historical figures from time to time.

Being that it opened just 2 months after ROTR, 9 months after GE, and less than 2 years after TSL, the whole park was full of new attractions.
