News Disney CEO Bob Chapek suggests price hikes are coming to the parks thanks to guest demand

Yes. And, sadly, as I've observed in a few Disney FB groups and the like, it's not just those with disposable income. There are lots of people already overextended (during "good" economic times) that have really gone all in on Disney despite what appear to be very precarious financial situations.

In addition to adding the class action waiver, I hope they institute a rule that these passholders won't live stream, do SuperChats, or advertise their Disney branded items via social media while in the parks. Add an Influence Key starting at $25,000/year.

Yep. Variable pricing is one part of that. Presumably G+ and ILL purchases, and parking fees for resort guests, also don't factor in.

Thanks, and not meant to knock it. We had an alternative option that's functionally a free vacation, and trying to justify that against the cost, it was a no brainer.

Much of this was based on the reviews I've been reading, whether from seasoned travelers or otherwise. We had other plans manifest for spring break to had to make a quick decision. Maybe they'll get things sorted out, but it seems to be very much a work in progress and didn't feel like it's...

All the uncertainty over the entertainment and the Oceaneers Club stuff, coupled with some early reviews and some really bizarre design choices, put us over the top and we’ve cancelled our March 2023 sailing.

News Disney to develop residential communities with new 'Storyliving by Disney' business

I share many of your general concerns. I don't want to be too presumptive as to the place where the poster was coming from, so not sure if s/he's a "don't bring kids into this evil world" type, or a Malthusian, humans are destroying the planet by existing type

Like the backstory of the attraction it's based on...perhaps it's cursed?

News Walt Disney World to resumes sales of Annual Passes (only Pixie Dust Pass available)

I can’t pinpoint it but during the AP sales pause didn’t Chapek or someone of similar standing float the possibility of a loyalty program of sorts replacing the AP? Obviously that’s not what happened but I feel like it was to be a program that tethered the benefits/discounts to the spending done...

Thank you. I am trying to balance the impulse against 1) giving any money whatsoever, and 2) if you don't do that, limit additional spending in any way you can. Should also add, 9) refuse to buy Genie + or ILL

News Disney CEO Bob Chapek suggests price hikes are coming to the parks thanks to guest demand

Exactly. The only crowds they care about are large numbers of on-the-clock employees milling about because they're underutilized. That is the reason for the reservation system - not so that the parks don't become "overcrowded."
