Somehow the Submarines Will Return July 25th

Glad the walls are down. Best Life & Beyond — the most insufferable Disney vloggers? It’s a competitive field, but they might be the champions.

Help me Plan my First WDW trip... I think its really happening this time

I'll comment on your first 4 questions, and leave the last 2 to more recent WDW travelers. 10 days is not overkill, IMO, given your objectives. Wouldn't stay longer, though. Better pool weather in April, sure. But keep in mind, high-60s and low-70s in Orlando is quite different from similar...

    The Miscellaneous Thought Thread

Haha. Yeah I'm a bit scared to see what they've done with the courtyard. Probably setting myself up for disappointment, but I hope it's identical to what was there before.

Really hoping they conscientiously refurbed Pirates during its 3.5 months closure. It's usually among the best-maintained attractions in the park, so I was saddened to see several broken effects back in December. One of my favorite characters in all of Disneyland is the little dog who sings...

It’s a totally different snake now; I believe it’s intended to be stationary. The one in that clip looks fantastic.

I'm in disbelief at this. Disney hasn't learned. One day we'll be on here talking about how the canons on Rise actually used to move and shoot.

Somehow the Submarines Will Return July 25th

I'm not a fan of the attraction, but I'm glad to see it received some love during its closure.

    Splash Mountain Announcement for Disneyland

For real. The singing geese have been seen marching with tiki torches chanting “Alligators will not replace us.” Scary stuff.

    Rumor Future of the Matterhorn?

Yeah if we're talking bulldozing and not replacing, I'm 100% opposed. I suppose a track replacement (as was done with Space & BTMR) would be my top choice as well, but I suspect it's not possible given the limitations of the existing structure. IMO a teardown/rebuild (however unlikely under...

    The Miscellaneous Thought Thread

In my experience, WDW's A/C is robust (to the point of being almost overpowering). Hence the defense of CoP (and HoP, Spaceship Earth, etc.) that "at least you can enjoy some A/C and take a nap." Kind of a bummer if they've reduced it. It's almost like a characteristic of the resort...

    The Miscellaneous Thought Thread

Along with everything else at Disney parks these days, the A/C is not what it used to be. Simply a cost-cutting measure, presumably. A listener wrote in to Jim and Len this week to discuss the state of the A/C in WDW's indoor attractions, but I'll confirm anecdotally this appears to be a...

Can I get a mod to delete the previous two posts? Somewhere a D'Amaro intern is reading these boards; we can't take any chances.

    The Miscellaneous Thought Thread

I kind of like the way Big Thunder looks in this photo (presumably shortly after the attraction opened, given Carter jogging), with minimal trees obstructing the view of the mountain and without the additional signage/entranceway. I also quite like the reddish-painted pavement. While smaller...

Haven't seen Lilo & Stitch, but is it weird I kind of like that concept art? I think I might enjoy an AA on Space Mountain. In its current form, I find the theming of Disneyland's version a little shallow and cheesy.

    Rumor Future of the Matterhorn?

I love the idea of Autopia and the subs. As Tony Baxter often points out, Autopia is many children’s first driving experience, while the subs contribute to the diversity of experiences one can have at Disneyland. So both are valuable. But surely both could be done infinitely better. You...

That said, RatChat really went to town criticizing the silleta gardens in DTD, but from what I’ve seen I think they look quite nice.

Perhaps they’re planning to re-theme Tomorrowland as a dystopia? I agree; it’s hideous.

    The Miscellaneous Thought Thread

Couldn’t tell you where it originated (it was 2003, and I was 13 at the time lol), but I remember it being widely discussed among fans — including here on WDWMagic.

    Disneyland thoughts post-Genie

Wait times have been shocking lately. 75 minutes for Jungle Cruise at 10 am, and 80 minutes for Big Thunder. Undoubtedly it's due to Genie+. But also, Pirates, Tarzan, Toontown (Roger, Gadget, Mickey's House), and Nemo are all down. Not to mention the constant breakdowns of major attractions...
