They have been completely silent about it. A lot like Spaceship Earth’s permanently shelved refurbishment. Budget cuts.

I think Play Pavilion is rumored to be shelved indefinitely or straight up canceled.

Disney had to neglect this ride. From those reports, I heard the update is completely dead. I am worried the ride will never get refurbished.

The ride hasn’t had an update since 2007. As of now, some of the elements of this Disney experience has been outdated. Same with Journey Into Imagination which hasn’t got an update since 2002. They need to change a few scenes close to the descent. Change the descent. Update the Omnimover system...

Disney will never update this ride as long as Bob Chapek is around. I guarantee you the ride system and everything will eventually end up out of service. This is the worst Disney attraction in my opinion. It’s outdated and it must be replaced. #FixEPCOT

It’s never gonna happen unless Disney fires Bob Chapek. It will never get a refurbishment until 2028 or 2032. EPCOT’s old attractions like this and Figment will get worse. On the day Judi Dench passes away, they need to overhaul it.

Project Tomorrow still stands. This indicates the Spaceship Earth is likely to be officially cancelled because of Chapek’s budget cuts. The ride is in desperate need of that update. The old track system won’t last for this long.
