News Walt Disney World to resumes sales of Annual Passes September 8th

Don't you have to go after a certain point, use it or lose it? Technically, you can go to other places, but it defeats the purpose of a Disney timeshare.

You can always buy the lowest tier and upgrade later if you're a FL Resident. Should they keep the others unavailable longer than desired.

News Splash Mountain retheme to Princess and the Frog - attraction discussion only

Exactly, glass half full! I see plenty of reason to believe that the people working on this care very much about doing it justice. People working on it who have loved Splash Mountain in the past want it to live up to the quality storytelling that we've come to expect. People working on it...

News Splash Mountain retheme to Princess and the Frog - attraction discussion only

For something that was in development for years before the announcement, they certainly are doing a lot of "last minute" R&D. My guess is that, truthfully, they had no serious plans to modify Splash Mountain prior to summer 2020 and pretty much started everything just prior to the...

News Fantasmic!, Festival of Fantasy Parade and Mickey's Royal Friendship Faire to return to Walt Disney World

I thought about that, but it's a lamp in the artwork, not the carpet. It doesn't mean that they couldn't add that scene, of course. I do think the existing Aladdin scene is enough, personally.

News Fantasmic!, Festival of Fantasy Parade and Mickey's Royal Friendship Faire to return to Walt Disney World

I think it's a reference to the existing magic lamp scene. I don’t see any need for a second Aladdin scene involving the lamp.

News Fantasmic!, Festival of Fantasy Parade and Mickey's Royal Friendship Faire to return to Walt Disney World

Pretty certain Moana will be a part of the new Fantasmic show. The spiral was on an oar in the artwork released.

News Disney mask policy at Walt Disney World theme parks

It's easy to see why, the staffing required to organize that would be a huge burden. They'd need to be trained to notice fraudulent documentation and deal with more frequent complaints from those who think they should be exempt. All for something that could be gone in a matter of weeks too...

News Disney mask policy at Walt Disney World theme parks

At Universal Orlando, it's lower than previous quarters absolutely, but that's because, unlike Disney, they actually finished the big project they had going. Even then, they are doing a pretty decent refurbishment right now on Poseidon's Fury that has been ongoing for several months. Not a...

Not in to mention, in California, Super Nintendo World is well under construction. They also just opened up a major roller coaster in IoA and have multiple projects in development at USO.

Disney Genie, Genie+ officially introduced along with confirmed details of how it will work

It will, $15 is the current ceiling, but there will be expansion eventually. Disney can make lots of things more expensive and be more profitable. They do it gradually to make it seem like they're progressive to shareholders. Small increases every once in a while creates the illusion of...

Disney Genie, Genie+ officially introduced along with confirmed details of how it will work

I think they really want both. I'd also bet that this system wasn't cheap to develop, given it's been coming for several years, and will require maintenance and updates. It'll be easy to profit from, but so are the balloons.

Disney Genie, Genie+ officially introduced along with confirmed details of how it will work

That's a great point. It's easy to spend less on other things like F&B or merch to cover the cost of Genie+ and/or IAS. A lot of taking from Bucket A (food, merch, etc) to supply Bucket B will no doubt take place.

Disney Genie, Genie+ officially introduced along with confirmed details of how it will work

I would guess, most people are in a standby for another attraction. Some might use the time to grab lunch. Outside of a few locations, there's no real point to shop since the same merchandise is mostly available everywhere, including at hotels.

    Pillows

While on the topic of pillows, anyone know when they stopped using the ($150) red pillows that used to be on the beds? I was looking at my photos and this does not appear to be covid-related as our cruise prior to the shutdown was also absent of the red pillows. It's kind of sad they're gone...

News Remy's Ratatouille Adventure coming to Epcot

It's funny, because I feel the same way you do about FoP. My family in MO loves it a lot and it's a must do for them when they come down. I do enjoy riding it with them. However, that's the only time I actually ride it. I often bypass Pandora entirely when in DAK, just because its two...

News Disney mask policy at Walt Disney World theme parks

For me it's either that or when treatment becomes as accessible as common cold medication, which I think we will see some movement on that front in 2022. Some great things are coming. Here's hoping they work and work well.
