Disney Genie, Genie+ officially introduced along with confirmed details of how it will work

I I asked the question of whether it was worth it from those who have been on the ride. People have been doing crazy things to get on that ride since it opened, maybe there is some kind of pixie dust you inhale that makes 24 a pop not crazy. I can’t see us paying that, but who knows. It would...

Disney Genie, Genie+ officially introduced along with confirmed details of how it will work

I guess that’s the crux.. being an extreme z Star Wars fan…I love Harry Potter and I still haven’t gone to Universal because I felt paying for 2 park admissions to see it was unnecessary. I’ll eventually go but even years later that kind of cash grab leaves a sour taste in my mouth. I think this...

Disney Genie, Genie+ officially introduced along with confirmed details of how it will work

For those who aren’t mortified by this and maybe have already ridden RotR. Can you say that ride is worth 96 dollars for a family of 4 to ride once? This is the one I can’t wrap my head around, as people are saying that they’ll be gone by 7am…

Disney Genie, Genie+ officially introduced along with confirmed details of how it will work

Thanks! Wish I could book it for individual in advance. I like the pre-planning. Even Magic Kingdom. Rope drop Mine Train then do Space. The rest of the rides you won’t be waiting forever in so even taking an hour or two to do so would be the most you’ll wait that day (assuming Genie+ works)

Disney Genie, Genie+ officially introduced along with confirmed details of how it will work

So if you have a package with 6 day tickets, do you just buy it day of each day or is there the option to buy it for certain days of your trip ahead of time?

Disney Genie, Genie+ officially introduced along with confirmed details of how it will work

Interesting but aren’t virtual queues just for RotR and Rat? Or do you see that extending to Mine Train, Slinky, etc (the other rides that wouldn’t be Genie+).

Disney Genie, Genie+ officially introduced along with confirmed details of how it will work

I’m having a hard time understanding why anyone would pay for that extra lightning access.. wouldn’t you just RD the hot new ride instead of fork over up to 100 dollars or more. Also @lentesta , you can totally outdo this system right? How do you see this affecting touring plans?

News Splash Mountain retheme to Princess and the Frog - attraction discussion only

Truly .. so sad for a company that was so revolutionary in terms of creativity…and don’t get me wrong with 3 girls we love the princesses, but we also love variety and quality. Splash is the essence of quality at WDW and as many have expressed layovers don’t tend to outdo or match previous...

News Splash Mountain retheme to Princess and the Frog - attraction discussion only

They do so many versions of their other stories, why not? In the live action Aladdin they changed song lyrics to take away negative stereotypes. By “erasing it” it feels like saying the Brer stories hold no value, and that feels like the cheap way to go.

News Splash Mountain retheme to Princess and the Frog - attraction discussion only

Maybe Gone With the Wind wasn’t the best example.. maybe I just have a mom who watches a lot of TCM.. but most movies of that age had very questionable artistic styles (think blackface). Holiday Inn, Yankee Doodle, Shirley Temple that were created for a family audience. These films are still...

News Splash Mountain retheme to Princess and the Frog - attraction discussion only

I’m an English teacher and I find it hard to argue there’s any allegory to it, it’s much more a fable to teach about not putting your foot in your mouth or straying too far from safety. Disney really did a doozy locking the SotS movie away. With context, it could have survived like any other...

News Splash Mountain retheme to Princess and the Frog - attraction discussion only

I just wish he world could see this ride the way my 3 year old does ( and I still do).. a story about a rabbit whose love for adventure gets him in trouble with a bear and fox.

Coronavirus and Walt Disney World general discussion

While we have always taken the virus seriously and followed all rules, I think bringing masks back will hurt more than help. The point of taking the vaccine is to protect you from serious illness and allow life to return to normalcy. Kids 6 months and up will likely have access to the vaccine...

    Parent swap changes...

We used RS our last trip and some of us did get to double on rides because we had 3 adults and 1 teen to one baby. But what I actually observed was that we would’ve been better off if RS operated the way it did when my stepdaughter was little, where everyone waited in line and the non riding...

News Disney mask policy at Walt Disney World theme parks

I would 100% mind as I have a 3 year old and she adored the character meals even at 1.5. Besides having a newborn, it’s one of the top reasons wed never visit Disney with current restrictions. I think people are putting up with a lot of stuff because they’re desperate to still do things during...

Coronavirus and Walt Disney World general discussion

O I agree, which is why my stepdaughter got hers right away and my kiddos will too. I just think there is more natural hesitancy to give something that is emergency use approved and new to someone so young. My baby will be 6 months in September so she’ll be at the young end of the age spectrum...

Coronavirus and Walt Disney World general discussion

I asked our pediatrician about toddlers. She expects them to have vaccines for them by fall/early winter. While I had no qualms having my 17 year old stepdaughter vaccinated, I’m a little leers about the 3 year old and baby. But I’d much rather that, than the long term possible consequences of...

Coronavirus and Walt Disney World general discussion

We have two breakfast periods and a lunch period. Kids distanced by three feet. Rotating schedule daily. It’s almost as if they are trying to see how many contacts one student can rack up in a day....

Coronavirus and Walt Disney World general discussion

Hmm I’d call it a dump at the school I’m in.. for instance right before school break they had all week carnival/relay day where the kids played sports, did lip syncs, etc. Wore masks but basically no distancing. With the new rotating schedule, kids will have different lunches daily so always...
