Dining reopening news *(more reopening dates added on 8/4/21)*

Well, it didn't help that Flemings just opened on Katella in addition to Ruth's Chris and Morton's down Harbor Blvd.

Haunted Mansion to Return with New Enhancements and Magic :(

I rode it a couple of weeks ago and I LOVED the expanded wheelchair boarding area with the decorative screen. The April/December painting looked good, but it was in an odd place. I don't miss the giant urns with the uplights on the right side approaching the load belt.

Instead of "Bright Suns" I always say "Bright Stars and Green Women"!

That's my go-to on DCA side with #2 being Lucky Dragon. On DL side it's the ribs at Docking Bay Seven, although I've had a recent change of heart on Bengal BBQ--one meat and one veggie skewer are just right for me.

News Disneyland modifies mask policy - UPDATE 7/28/21

It has been widely reported throughout this pandemic that wearing a mask does more to protect others than yourself. There have been plenty of demonstrations of how a mask prevents the spread of airborne particles from people who are infected. The reason that wearing a mask doesn't protect me...

News Disneyland modifies mask policy - UPDATE 7/28/21

My bad. That was sloppy writing, which I hate. I should have said it will be informative in that we will have more insight into how and where any resurgence occurs and how that may relate to early relaxing of restrictions as well as the spread of variants. Scientists around the world are fine...

News Disneyland modifies mask policy - UPDATE 7/28/21

The problem is that wearing a mask protects others more than yourself. Most of the people who are unvaccinated are also opposed to masks. It will be interesting to see over the summer if there is a resurgence among these populations. Vermont is now 80% vaccinated--that may provide an...

Ummm, the plural of "anecdote" isn't "data". Just sayin'.

That's the beauty of it! Bill Gates design is so perfect they fly under the radar. The thing I hate is having to change my phone number to get 5G on the nano-chip!

News Disneyland modifies mask policy - UPDATE 7/28/21

While you've been sealed in your coffin this week it has been announced that Cal-OSHA has new guidelines pending, maybe as early as Thursday, which the Governor has promised to fast-track. Guidelines for guests are based on Public Health principles. Cal-OSHA is based on worker safety...

News Disneyland modifies mask policy - UPDATE 7/28/21

The hell they wouldn't! Just talk to any CMs who have knowledge of what went on as they prepared to reopen. In department after department, plans were made and parameters were set for a "sensible" reopening and TDA blew them up midstream. Now you have attractions CMs working 12-hour days and...

News Disneyland modifies mask policy - UPDATE 7/28/21

Not just staffing (which is huge). We're waiting for Cal-OSHA to issue new guidelines, which the Governor has promised to fast track. This will impact restaurants especially. Currently there are strict limits on how many staff can be in the kitchen. This is why you see so few entrees offered...

WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure to use Virtual Queue

Don't forget Monte Cristos at Smokejumpers. They call it a half sandwich, but it was plenty big. It was a little greasy, but we just picked off some of the dough.

WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure to use Virtual Queue

But I'm always right! I'm on the interwebs--everybody knows this. (Ooops, I've been hanging out with my narcissist brother). Thanks for appreciating the review. I'm a big old Disney geek and I absolutely get that people appreciate different rides. My own likes have changed over time. But...

News Disneyland Adds Alcohol to Blue Bayou Menu

There's another consideration I just heard about. I have a friend who works at the resort, but not in Foods. She said one of his managers told her that a major issue is that Cal-OSHA limits how many workers can be in the kitchen. This not only limits the capacity of indoor diners, but also...

WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure to use Virtual Queue

I'm seeing reviews on TV now, so here's my review (I was the guest of a CM last week and we were supposed to embargo until tomorrow). I like the environment of AC. The big Avenger's building is gorgeous, even in daylight when all you see are Avengers posing and gesturing on the balcony. It's...

WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure to use Virtual Queue

I think you have hit on something (even though I LOVE RotR). When I saw SW Ep. 4 on opening night they had a blow up of the LA Times review outside. One of the take-away quotes was that this was a "lived-in" outer space compared to the sanitized environments of the past 25 years (Star Trek...

News Disneyland Adds Alcohol to Blue Bayou Menu

Don't know if I mentioned this--I was invited by a CM on their preview day last month. When we rode Pirates, you could see the new beverage station (serving bar) against the wall to the kitchen. It clearly had many beer and wine taps. I've said for years that the bean counters at TDA knew to...

    Indy Secret Restroom

Do NOT miss the documentary: "Bathrooms Over Broadway". It's about industrial trade shows in the '50s--'70s. There's rare video of a plumbing fixture show with a young woman singing: "My bathroom, my bathroom..." I recommend it to everyone!
