News Reflections of Earth confirmed to be replaced by Harmonious

I stayed off this thread to let "the dust settle" from barge deployment. After returning and reviewing the latest view of the barges on the lake, there is no debating that this is horrible. The screens look 8'-10' above the water line. Why aren't the screens along the side of the barges and only...

News Reflections of Earth confirmed to be replaced by Harmonious

Thanks for the insight. I'm still not a fan of the massive barges nor the LED arrays. I feel like they are simply rolling out the A/V Club TVs for our class to watch a movie. At least when it's projected on water, while the image is less pristine, it creates certain effects that can be used...

News Reflections of Earth confirmed to be replaced by Harmonious

Such a horrible way to implement a new show. At MK they attempted to hide the DLP projectors for the castle as well as having the fireworks hidden either on roofs or behind the park. Here they stick it in our face and ruin the view. I've seen videos of them testing the fountains and hate to say...

M&M'S store coming to Disney Springs in 2020

The Springs is starting to look too much like the Vegas Strip with that addition. Only needs a "Sugar Factory" and a "Denny's", but what do I know? While it is a tourist destination, I prefer the tourist things that are unique to Disney.

Multiple Resorts Switch to Shared Costumes for Certain Cast Members UPDATED

So long as they aren't assigning anyone a "Red shirt". You NEVER want to be the guy in the background wearing a red shirt. (Star Trek reference)

News Tron coaster coming to the Magic Kingdom

If they proceed with relaying the track, it will not happen until the poured concrete walkways for TRON are completed as the train (tunnel structure or not, goes under the walkway. So, they finish the TRON canopy to protect the coaster track. IMHO, protecting the investment I'm sure, is of...

    News People mover now reopened!

I'm sure money is a huge issue for this fix. We know how that works. I wish they'd just get it over with and install the strobe lights.

On layoffs, very bad attendance, and Iger's legacy being one of disgrace

Don't forget to remind people at the beginning, in the middle, and again at the end, to Click Like (and point it out in a place that it's not actually located), Subscribe, Comment below with the irrelevant non-sense about what "they think"! OH, and you also need a bunch of links to custom merch...

Any idea when they will finish demolishing innovations west?

My sources tell me it's scheduled for completion as soon as it's finished. They also claim that's still accurate and aligns very well on the calendar that will be announced soon after it's been determined. The budget is still very fluid, but will be locked down after the economic dynamics...

News Space 220 Restaurant dining experience at Epcot's Future World

Yeah, it's a tough call as they have the new part of France on the map now. Perhaps they'll be opening the crepe stand and restrooms to tease us?

News Space 220 Restaurant dining experience at Epcot's Future World

I'd guess late April - Mid May, as with the current guesses for Ratatouille. More things to pull traffic from the front when SSE closes. Not like they compare, but SSE is a people eater, so anything significant helps. But what do I know? 🤪

Is anyone actually excited about Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind or is it just me?

As it replaces UoE, an oil based energy pavilion, the only way I found that GotG fits in is when I realized that Groot is wood, wood burns and produces heat, heat can make steam, steam can power turbines which make electricity, electricity can power electric cars like the ones at TT. So, the...

News Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance opening reports and using Boarding Groups at Disney's Hollywood Studios

The entire boarding group process seems to be failing miserably. Having to be in the park before it opens so you can grab a group that may not ride at all is the dumbest process ever. If they want to keep pushing FP+ through the rest of the parks, then do so and apply it to this attraction as...

News Big changes coming to EPCOT's Future World?

Lease it out to PGS Superstores or Golf Galaxy and turn it into a revenue generator. All the common folk think it's a big golf ball anyway! :D:rolleyes:

News Big changes coming to EPCOT's Future World?

You're 100% right, about process but the big issue is that the product development cycle is NOT what it once was, nor is the intended life time of said products.

News Big changes coming to EPCOT's Future World?

Unfortunately, if you look at technology now, the agile development cycle used by manufacturers that supports the rapid deployment of ever changing tech that so many consumers & Wall Street investors demand, has turned our real world into E.P.C.O.T. Products used to be tested fully and built to...

News Big changes coming to EPCOT's Future World?

True. It's a trade off. The space between the buildings were not helped by the tarps, the heat got trapped and was dependant on the breeze direction, and nothing but concrete was aweful. Trees & planted areas, if done right ( ) would be welcome and incrementally better. As for storms...

News Big changes coming to EPCOT's Future World?

Oh sure, traffic was a nightmare, but some of what they presented was interesting. Short lifespan on museum-like technology presentations makes that a costly venture as well and not practical, even for Disney. Glad to see it go, though it was enjoyable (on low traffic days).
