Rumor 40% Capacity Soon? What if I Told You That We’re Already There

Not sure how Disney calculates its capacity on a per space basis, but it doesn't seem consistent (to me at least). At EPCOT this past weekend, the winding line to get into the Mexican pavillion meant the place was able to maintain a comfortable distance between people once inside; contrast to...

Disneyland "Sunsetting" annual passes, WDW next?

World Showcase is a lovely mall.

    Morocco Pavilion facing financial troubles

It's a bit difficult to remember as of now with Canada, Germany and UK pavilions half-shuttered, but the Disney-run pavilions do manage to balance their merch - see Italy: one shop has Disney theme on top of Italian theme (Disney characters doing espresso and dessert these days), while across...

News 2020 Taste of EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays

If it wasnt for the big tree and the loud holiday music (interrupted by the “you will comply” announcements), i’d’ve sworn it was still Food & Wine fest. But the effort was there and the CMs were amazing.

    Morocco Pavilion facing financial troubles

Very sad seeing an entire pavilion shuttered today. And yes, half of the one tiny shop that stayed open featured Aladdin merch. 😒

News Walt Disney World theme parks increase capacity but see longer waits and less physical distancing

Does Disney really think they can do any kind of projection show and folks will just glance at it briefly as they walk past? A crowd forming is still a crowd forming. They know it. We know it. No one's fooling anyone.

News Big changes coming to EPCOT's Future World?

And what was the point of leaving the Odyssey as is and not refurbing it to be the Festival Center? Before the advent of the Preview presentation, it was more useless than Launch Bay.

News Walt Disney World theme parks increase capacity but see longer waits and less physical distancing

Upping capacity plus holiday weekend at The Studios today (saturday) and the park still seemed uncrowded. Wait times under an hour meant we got to ride everything (including runaway railway twice). Rules were followed. People and cast were pleasant. The only irritation were lines for shopping -...

News Big changes coming to EPCOT's Future World?

It's interesting (to me anyway) that Starbucks got so close to world showcase, but not actually in the ring. May be contractual, maybe not. Are the other 3 major coffee kiosks in world showcase all Joffreys? (on the way to mexico, between US + Italy, between UK + Canada - not counting the one...

News Walt Disney World theme parks increase capacity but see longer waits and less physical distancing

With less than 10 "attractions" and so many stores/restaurants shuttered (and no after-dark entertainment), i figure it's to give the folks who paid good $$$ at the gate enough time to wander aimlessly and feel they got their $$$$s worth.

News Walt Disney World theme parks increase capacity but see longer waits and less physical distancing

Epcot today was vastly different than the experience we had in August. With every other store and restaurant having a closed sign (one in Germany is only open for the weekday crowds - which makes no sense to me) and only half the food/wine booths, it was a quick day. As a passholder, i paid...

News Walt Disney World theme parks increase capacity but see longer waits and less physical distancing

It’s not like that now, unfortunately- especially weekends. Wait times are still lower, but there are still points of crowd clogs (is thatan official term?) IMO the concept of “exit thru giftshop” really needs a rethink in social distancing times. FOP shop had moments of looking like no one...

News Big changes coming to EPCOT's Future World?

Despite all the downsides to the building, it would still be nice to have somewhere to go in Epcot for a 2nd or even 3rd story view (that’s not moving)

News Disney announces strategic restructuring of media and entertainment divisions.

Surprised "home video" (dvd/bluray) has enough legs to be mentioned as future plans. Disney is now working thru 4K titles and then taking advantage of their Fox acquisitions, but in a few years, I see dvd/bluray become a more "collectors item" than decent revenue stream. Not something i'm happy...

News Walt Disney World theme parks increase capacity but see longer waits and less physical distancing

Animal kingdom today felt like a normal pre-pandemic day. Despite some restaurants and shows still being closed, there was plenty of fun. Besides everyone being masked, the only odd things were the 6feet apart queues. Festival of the lion king might be closed, but it became the place the Safari...
