Fort Wilderness Cabins- Help & Advice!

So this is what, a week old now? Let me see if this helps.... Our room at Disney has wheels so while I can't talk to the cabins, I can give a little insight to staying at the fort. Golf carts are more like $65 to $67 a day depending on season. Rentals are from 1:00pm to checkout the following...

News NOAA forecasts 'extremely active' hurricane season for the remainder of 2020

Something else to remember is just because they forecast a lot of hurricanes it doesn't mean they'll all end up in Florida or even the US. And yes, I live in Florida about 30 minutes from the gate of mouse.

    Who is going to WDW?

For what it's worth.. My daughter came to visit last month. She flew from Seattle to Orlando (and back) and it was fine. She said the flights weren't full and she felt the flights themselves were safe. (Alaska Air). Pretty good prices too. They did cancel her return flight because it wasn't full...

Do you think that Disney world will reclose its gates due to the rising number of COVID cases in Florida and around the country?

I would have thought this was crazy except I was talking with a friend today. Her aunt was exhibiting flu like symptoms last weekend and went to the ED. She was told there would be an approx. 30 minute wait until she would be seen. After three hours waiting she went home. She received a letter...

    Best Resorts

Fort Wilderness because we bring our own "House" complete with bedroom, bathroom and shower. We watch our own TVs and have a beautiful outside yard with a picnic table and grill! Plus we save a lot by cooking our own meals, going out only when we chose to.

Do you think that Disney world will reclose its gates due to the rising number of COVID cases in Florida and around the country?

We don't have "golden calves" down here in Florida. In fact, most of the native Florida cattle are kind of thin and stringy. Just saying....

News Splash Mountain retheme to Princess and the Frog - attraction discussion only

Let's be realistic. It's Disney, they won't bother retheming anything, any land. Just slap Louisiana onto a mountain, call it the upper bayou and then call it a day.

News Splash Mountain retheme to Princess and the Frog - attraction discussion only

Just wondering how they're going to accomplish the retheme to make it fit. I haven't seen a lot of mountains, hills and waterfalls in the bayous of Louisiana. Especially near New Orleans.

What kind of Disney guest are you?

Pull into the Fort around 10:00am. Get set up and hop in the golf cart. Head out to the marina or the main bus stop. Do some resort hopping and eat at 'Ohana hopefully. Watch MK fireworks from there or back at Fort Wilderness beach. Do some looping, go to the pool, rinse and repeat for 4 days...

    News New Park Hours...

We used to drive every year, sometimes multiple times from Maryland starting in 89 through 2012. We live 30 minutes away now but that's not to your point. We parked the car and used Disney transportation for everything. Always worked for us.

Will ANYTHING ever happen to Discovery Island?

There is huge tracts of available land on property that can be developed that wouldn't be a logistical nightmare. I think the island should be allowed to revert back to nature. Also, as someone who enjoys staying at the Fort, having to haul all your crap over to the island would be a pain and...
