Am I the only one that liked the Birthday Cake castle?

It was really different when I first saw it. Kind of disappointed when I went out behind it and found that the covering did not go all around. But it did enable guests to see what it was beneath the blow-up cake and candles. Lost it's magic when the wind blew and the whole candle bent. Glad...

Things we can learn from Disney attractions

I have a copy, DVD, of Song of the South, purchased in Ireland several years ago, I wanted a copy of 'the wonderful tar baby'. After seeing the whole movie again I'm still wondering why it has not been released again. I see nothing 'racist' in it. It shows the viewer what conditions were then...

    Unimpressed with Animal Kingdom

That sounds so typical. I've run into many people who only look at the surface and don't take the time to really look into what is around them. That is why there are 'guided tours' offered off of cruise ships. People need to be lead around to 'see everything', not just the shops.

News PHOTOS - Cinderella Castle stage under refurbishment

I recall when the cast of 'Riverdance' first came to the U.S. they checked out all the floors they were to perform on to make sure that there was enough give in them so that the dancers would not end up with wrecked ankles and knees, especially in New York and Boston.

News PHOTOS - Cinderella Castle stage under refurbishment

Back in the '70's we were able to walk through the Castle and see the mosaics on both sides of the entrance. Then when they began to run more shows they blocked the right side mosaics for costumes and cast changes(?). Well anyway, they kept the screens in place preventing the viewing of the...

Favorite Restaurant at Epcot, Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios

When going to Ragland Road, if you want to see the show and dancers, you may have to insist. The last 2 times I was there they tried to seat us in an out of the way table with no view of the show. They adjusted when we refused the seating and said we would wait for another table.

News Disney MagicMobile Service coming soon beginning with Apple devices

I don't want to pay for another magic band when they came free with the reservation. I'm talking about charging for something that was included with reservations. You can use the technology you want, I have no problem with it.

Don't like, want to keep 'free' magic band. Fixing something that does not need fixing.

    Inventors Circle in FW West

I've always wondered how many guests even notice this feature during their visits to the World.

    Paddlefish vs. The BOATHOUSE

Have dined at both, either one is ok depending on your preferences. The "Empress Lilly" was a great loss, neither come close to what it was in the 70's.

    Grand Floridian Walkway

"Walk Around the World" was a means of selling the tiles used in the paths. Evidently they found that they had a problem connecting the CR to the TTC and stopped the project. Management never mentioned the construction of a bridge between the MK and GF. Now with the removal of the tiles will...

Getting back to your resort late at night

Best to find out what the transportation system is before going to the resort where the reservation is. Disney Transportation doesn't go from resort to resort. Late night you need to go to a park and then pick a bus to the resort you want to go to. Or go to Disney Springs and get a resort bus...

Where’s the best food in Magic Kingdom

Skipper Canteen for dinner or lunch. Plaza for lunch. Tony's has always been great for dinner, spaghetti and meatballs. Even though Tony's has the most negative reviews but always has long waiting lines, even with reservations.

Rose & Crown Refurb - Opening?

Not that great a spot to view the fireworks. Area can be quite crowded, unless you are seated on porch against the lake and can see between the trees. Have done it several times and always asked myself -- 'why?' did I do this again.

    Pool Usage

If the pools opened at least by 5:00 A.M. (I'm an early riser), I'd most likely take an early morning swim, i.e. laps. But since they fenced them off and locked the gates they have made them unusable when I'd like to use them. When I first bought into the Wilderness Lodge DVC (2001), the quiet...

Disney Resorts Slowly Being Eroded and Dismantled by WDI, Guest Questioners and Outside Design Firms

I mentioned this several years ago when they began renovating the rooms in what is now called 'Boulder Ridge' at the Wilderness Lodge. The small touches of the wilderness theme began to disappear from the rooms and hallways, making it easier to repaint, etc. What will they do to the grand lobby...

    MMRR- Sup with Goofy

I did not notice this what with the ride moving so quickly when it begins and there is so much going on as the ride progresses. Now, on subsequent rides when you are able to take the time to watch individual elements this may be an observation. The first time through - you are seeing lots of...

    Magic Kingdom's Overhaul or Expansion

That would never happen … They stopped work in the parks that could have been completed, such as the painting of the MK Castle, when the virus struck. Do things when the crowds are away - they have the attitude of the guests be dammed - we'll do the work around them and let them see we are...
