I like your ideas, however IASW to me is a castle park attraction. Similar to Space Mountain, POTC or HM. Guests have come to expect and closely associate these attractions with the castle parks. I know I do. True, on paper IASW could work at Epcot but I feel its so ingrained in the guest's...
I think TDO reasoning for not giving PPF a complete Bavarian facade redo is because it's within the castle walls and there is suppose to be a royal fair going on. I.E. the cheap way out. I'm sure there is a way to incorporate a fully fleshed out Bavarian themed facade for PPF, IASW, and MP...
Me too. And seeing the ship off in the distance is cool. Though its often overlooked especically if you board from the opposite side. Our fill-in for the Blue Bayou. But when you think about the entire queue/facade is a replacement for the Blue Bayou.
Heard that some of the former boats are used on the Hotel shuttle boat routes..particularly from the Grand Floridian, Polynesian and Wilderness Lodge to the Magic Kingdom.
I can't be the only one that remembers when you could hear pirates whispering about an attack on the fort in the queue. It was light whispers and metal clinging and banging.
I remember waiting 2 hours to ride Splash in Dec '92. I was so excited because it was new and something from the coveted DL that was brought to FL. I used to write WDW and they would send me brochures and promotional material. I would study and read the guidebooks/literature multiple times. The...
Does it alternate between a man's and woman's voice like it does at the parks? I haven't been to my local Disney Store but I'm planning a future visit.
So true..It is a great ride with interesting storytelling. It's said to have inspired Tony Baxter when it was Tales of the Okefonokee. Yes, it closed in 1980 but by that time he had ridden it several times. It's still a popular ride at the park.
Kinda wish Pinocchio and Alice could have made the cut. More dark rides is always a plus. Would Alice have been near the Chesire Cafe and Pinocchio near his restuarant?
And that is fine but as Disney purists/hardcore fans, a lot of us are thinking literally when it comes to Splash Mountain placement. The Imagineers will find a way to make a PatF themed Mountain fit. It's not that serious. We need to lighten up, its a theme park flume ride.
I see what you're saying but Splash Mountain is already in an awkward position in the MK now, because how does Georgia currently fit next to Monument Valley Arizona Big Thunder? I really think were overthinking this! I'm sure the Imagineers are aware of this.
Anyone think Disney will market a Rose Gold castle toy similar to how the Diamond anniversary castle for DL? The recent redesign and current toy/model of Cinderella Castle is not very accurate. Plus DL castle toys has always been true to the actual building in contrast to our version...
One that comes to mind is the hitchhiking gator...he's absent in Orlando. And also in the finale the cats and fox on the cart being pulled by a donkey on the right are America Sings originals.
Edit...also the owl in the mill lift hill and the rabbit on the railcart above you right before you...
I have provided an example of elements in Splash Mountain that are offensive to me in previous posts. You not being offended doesn't mean someone else cannot be. And before the rebuttal of ppl are too sensitive is spoken...what right do you have to tell someone how to feel? Just saying.
Actually he is and so are you. I enjoy Splash Mountain as a thrill ride. Do I find some scenes offensive, I do. I know the history of the source material. I'm from Atlanta, grew up visiting the Wren's Nest (Joel Chandler Harris' home) google it btw and I have read his books. But because I have a...
