    Should Cars be Cancelled?

Are you a Black Mexican-Italian Jewish redneck? Because if you’re not, you are appropriating those cultures to make a silly point. Just sayin’

Trip in 2021 worth it for us?

We’re in our 60s and cancelled a trip last Sept. Now, we’re going in late April. I’m used to a couple of trips each year and my gf hasn’t been in 35 years. We’ll be vaccinated by then. I won’t miss parades (didn’t enjoy them anyway), nor m&g s (she’s not thrilled with characters). My major...

Disney Resorts Slowly Being Eroded and Dismantled by WDI, Guest Questioners and Outside Design Firms

It IS much more Disney... and that’s the problem. It is NOT consistent with the theming of the Boardwalk. Which the clown was. The Boardwalk pool is themed as an East Coast boardwalk amusement park. Not a Disney attraction. If Disney is anything, it is about theming. By breaking this policy, the...

    Fifth Gate Disney Memories

Toontown was a creative tour de force. The engineering that went into the Toontown Trolley was impressive for such a small detail. And the dark ride was the first occurrence of an interactive attraction. Plus, the detail rivaled that of SWGE! Construction workers had to learn new building...

    Fifth Gate Disney Memories

I remember the whole town at WDW... or think I remember it. I have seen the whole town!

Disney Resorts Slowly Being Eroded and Dismantled by WDI, Guest Questioners and Outside Design Firms

Of course. But Disney is what today’s new guests want. If your stuck in memories, go to Six Flags, which is a static experience.

    Fifth Gate Disney Memories

i agree it wouldn’t be the original experience. WDI strength is creating an experience that you think you remember. Who says it would be a screen road ride? It would be designed to be whatever you think you remember, to create a memorable experience. You aren’t getting my point.

    Fifth Gate Disney Memories

You’re being negative. They could bring back the rides using any “tech” they wanted to recreate the original experience.

    Fifth Gate Disney Memories

I totally agree with you. But there seems to be a lot of nostalgia towards these (and other) attractions. I just am suggesting that a Disney Memories park could create additional demand. One design feature of Disney parks is the attention to detail in transition areas. What a challenge to...

    Fifth Gate Disney Memories

I recently read an article on Disney Lists, that listed the top extinct attractions that people want back. Horizons 20,000 Leagues Mickey’s Toontown Honey, I Shrunk the Kids Maelstrom The Timekeeper Snow White’s Scary... Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride This is just a mental exercise. But, imagine...

    Boardwalk Inn/Villas Pool Theming

Interesting. Are you a mod? Please move this post to the relevant thread. Funny, I originally wrote this thread to question recent activities regarding the overall destruction of Disney foundations. Not about a given clown.

    Boardwalk Inn/Villas Pool Theming

I can’t believe they removed the clown on the water slide. The theming of the pool area was excellent. The carousel, roller coaster and clown were perfect. I felt I was at a boardwalk amusement park. I live in New England, where there are several oceanside boardwalks, resorts and amusement...

Disney Resorts Slowly Being Eroded and Dismantled by WDI, Guest Questioners and Outside Design Firms

Boardwalk Inn. I stayed there in 2019. I can’t believe they got rid of the clown at the pool just recently. It fit in with the theming. Now the carousel themed bar/food location is minimized.

Hi! My name stands for dj’s fantasi world. It’s my effort to create a Disney inspired attraction in the suburbs. I study Disney design, operations and business practices. When I go to the parks, I am in awe of the design and detail. ...how everything around you contributes to the atmosphere...

Disney Resorts Slowly Being Eroded and Dismantled by WDI, Guest Questioners and Outside Design Firms

I stay on site because the hotels remind you that you’re still in the bubble. Even if they are not decorated with Disney IP, the detail and theming made you feel that you weren't in Florida USA. Until I stayed at the BW... If I didn’t look out the window, I felt like I was just on a business...

Goodbye, Enchanted Tiki Room / Trader Sam’s?

I’m offended by Mary Poppin’s because of the characterization presented by Mr. Banks as a stiff, humorless Brit gentleman. I’m of British heritage and offended ;-)

    Magic Band life span

I have a half dozen MBs, from 1 to 3 years old. I’m returning to WDW in April and decided to buy two new, basic MBs. I was afraid of picking the 3 year old ones and they wouldn’t work in all cases. Since I’ve missed a few trips, due to the pandemic, I didn’t want to risk having a problem. I...

News Disney's Magical Express to end after 2021

I am fast approaching 70yo. Not having to schlep my luggage for a 10 day trip is huge. And I go (went?) to Disney from Boston 2-3 times a year. I could get a 6:00am flight BOS-MCO, and with ME, get to a park around open on the first day. That saved me a day of hotel expenses.

News Disney's Magical Express to end after 2021

Just announced. EMH are gone! But now EVERY park will open an hour earlier for resort guests EVERY day. A win in my book.

News Disney's Magical Express to end after 2021

It still does, if you want it. Except gratuity. I always get DDP Deluxe. While there are more meals than I want, I use the extra meals to dine at the expensive choices. And I convert QS meals to snacks and munch around the parks.
