News Walt Disney World theme parks increase capacity but see longer waits and less physical distancing

Sorry to get this topic off-track. Yes -- I hate Fastpass+. I was reminded just how much when I was down there several weeks ago.

News Walt Disney World theme parks increase capacity but see longer waits and less physical distancing

Either you're an evil, dictator regime that wants to imprison everyone in their homes -- or you want to kill Grandma. It has to be one or the other. Amirite? ^ Sarcasm

Or maybe they're just giving the businesses in their state the freedom to decide how best to run their business and take care of their own employees and customers. I know. Crazy talk.

Politics 28000 Layoffs coming to Disney's domestic theme parks - statement from Josh D'Amaro

So you don't think the extended CA lockdown/closure of DL played a role? In at least the number of layoffs.

Politics 28000 Layoffs coming to Disney's domestic theme parks - statement from Josh D'Amaro

Is it? My family and I traveled from Texas to WDW last month for two weeks and everyone is fine.

Reservation system here to stay? Update from Josh D'Amaro

We were down there for two weeks about a month ago. Aside from having to wear the masks everywhere in 90-degree heat and humidity (which was pretty brutal), it was one of the best trips I've had to WDW in YEARS. Granted -- we made the last-minute decision to go down due to the extremely low...

Fort Wilderness Questions - Has Someone Been Since the Reopening?

Sorry. These questions have probably been posed elsewhere -- but we're considering coming down for a trip soon and staying at FW. We had some questions though. * Is the whole campground (all loops) up and running? * Are the trading posts and restaurants open? * Are the pools open? * Are there...

It's already been done. And I think we can all agree that the effect is basically flawless.

Politics RUMOR: Lin Manuel Miranda and Weird Al to Redo Hall of Presidents

That's kind of my point also. Tweaking HOP is not going to change the popularity of the attraction. So leave it alone. If you want to put butts in those seats, you're going to have to put something special there. Or a dark ride. I'm no insider, but I don't think it's as controversial as people...

Politics RUMOR: Lin Manuel Miranda and Weird Al to Redo Hall of Presidents

I don't think it has so much to do with politics for most people. I just think they find the attraction boring. Same goes for Carousel and American Adventure @ Epcot. We typically see about the same number of people for all three. Even with a redo, I don't think you'd see a big increase in...

On layoffs, very bad attendance, and Iger's legacy being one of disgrace

That's unfortunate. I suspect the (outside) rule is keeping others away as well. We may still try to head down there soon, but won't spend much time in the parks. Thanks for the insight.

Agreed. The masks outside are basically what's keeping us away at this point. Would love to see this relaxed soon.

Yes. And every city has areas/stories like this. I will admit, the juxtaposition is what's interesting. Especially for people like me that know the area around the resort but don't live down there and see it on a daily basis.
