News Space 220 Restaurant dining experience at Epcot's Future World

Exactly what I was thinking - that lighting will make a world of difference with this. That and actual tabletops. While it's nice of him to show a photo, it's definitely not a great look at what's to come

News Splash Mountain retheme to Princess and the Frog - attraction discussion only

In theory this explanation could take place in the queue of the ride - we certainly have enough time standing around waiting to ride. But that would only work for those who are at WDW intending to ride, and might not appease the cancel culture. I have not seen SotS and have to assume that it...

    Universal in 1 day?

Is Horror Makeup available during the summer? I don’t follow universal at all!

    Universal in 1 day?

Same question but different circumstance: we're going to Florida this next summer (life permitting) and thinking to break up a WDW trip with a night at Universal with their express pass/early entry that comes with the hotel stay. My question is whether to take the day before (should come with...

    Monorail beam cleaning?

I was surprised by how dirty it looked when we were there in August. My guess would have been that it would not have been bad since no one had been using it...but is the dirtiness from the environment or from usage?

News Holidays 2020 at Walt Disney World

The projections on Cinderella's castle seem reasonable as well - though I probably prefer the decoration it had previously (the dream lights?) But I agree - there should be a reasonable theme. Just because the new decorations are easy doesn't make them good. Arendelle on HTH? Really?

News Holidays 2020 at Walt Disney World

So we're rarely (only been once about a decade ago) able to visit WDW over Christmas. For those who go - do the HTH projections work? The up close photos don't look great and it doesn't feel right to have TOT looking festive. But from Sunset Blvd at a distance, it looks like maybe it's okay?

Politics 28000 Layoffs coming to Disney's domestic theme parks - statement from Josh D'Amaro

We've been twice since the reopening (from Texas); and it's obvious that they're trying to look like they're providing the usual entertainment but it's certainly not the same. I'm not happy about the changes either, but their entertainers are intended to draw crowds which is counterproductive...

Politics 28000 Layoffs coming to Disney's domestic theme parks - statement from Josh D'Amaro

But it's where we are for now. The commentary suggests that they are fully invested in replacing their entertainment and hopefully it's not just lip service. WDW is certainly a stripped down version of what we love, but if that can keep things going, then I'm all for it If you don't want to...

    Farewell Citizens of Hollywood

This one is a much bigger hit to the company than 9/11, and will be much more sustained. I understand the cuts; I just wish we could trust that they would restore things to normal once the world is (eventually) back to normal. DLP closing again suggests that DL isn't opening anytime soon. I...

News PHOTOS - New look Magic Kingdom auto-plaza shares similar color scheme with Cinderella Castle

I don't disagree...but really MK is the core of WDW. I feel that there are layers of the WDW experience. The resorts add a layer as do the other parks then the ancillary offerings of the water parks, golf courses and Disney Springs, all within the resort perimeter. But most everyone who...

John Williams wins Grammy Award for "Galaxy's Edge Symphonic Suite"

I thought that they might have been taking a page from AK...that they want you to be a participant in the adventure. To me, that wouldn’t preclude background music as part of the setting, but I guess they are trying to keep it “real”

John Williams wins Grammy Award for "Galaxy's Edge Symphonic Suite"

I find it interesting that some of the best musical atmosphere is in the restrooms of Galaxies edge. The restroom by the droids near Toy Story in particular has some pretty good alien dance music. Does background music permeate Harambe or Pandora? They put in an effort at GE but clearly...

Rumor Disney may be about to expand the use of virtual queue boarding groups at Walt Disney World

From a personal standpoint, were there no FP+ and more virtual queues long run, it would dramatically diminish my enjoyment of the parks. FP+ allows us to sleep in and choose which lines we want to bypass. Having to rope drop to get a FP means that we're not likely to get that FP (unless it's...
