On layoffs, very bad attendance, and Iger's legacy being one of disgrace

I said nothing of staying content and miserable. I suggested that companies like Disney routinely post positions that can be applied for, that provides a path towards upward mobility that is better than quitting a job, and starting over, and over, and over, where you are not changing anything...

On layoffs, very bad attendance, and Iger's legacy being one of disgrace

I understand, but there becomes a point where if you change jobs too often, it begins to look bad. Also, there is a difference between changing jobs as stepping stones, contracts change, maintaining and learning new skills, or a host of other professional reasons. I am arguing about quitting...

On layoffs, very bad attendance, and Iger's legacy being one of disgrace

For every story of being passed over for a promotion at Disney, there is another story for one who has. This happens in every industry where not everybody gets promoted. I am sorry that it shakes out that way for people, but complaining and quitting isn't healthy.

On layoffs, very bad attendance, and Iger's legacy being one of disgrace

Do you really think a parallel move is better? Do you think working at another hotel chain in another town is the solution? Working for Burger King opposed to McDonalds, finding happiness at Arby's? The false dream here is not having hope given your current situation, but that being a...

On layoffs, very bad attendance, and Iger's legacy being one of disgrace

You are missing the most important factor in relocating. The purpose of relocating is to align your skills and interest, with an employer seeking that skill. Those who work minimum wage jobs, that do not have the skills to do something else that pays more, will not find success in another...

On layoffs, very bad attendance, and Iger's legacy being one of disgrace

As I read over this thread, and kept thinking to myself about the uncertainty of the recovery of the parks. One year stands out for us. My family has been going to Disney since early 2000's. We experienced the changes from 9/11 and 2009, but the worst year in our memory was 2006. We noticed...

News Primeval Whirl, Stitch's Great Escape and Rivers of Light permanently closed

You said "pointless gesture like a solar farm that won't power anything of substance in the parks". And I'll ask again. How is a 50mW power plant a pointless gesture that won't power anything of substance? You are also arguing "what was living in that area", and I just asked for some...

News Primeval Whirl, Stitch's Great Escape and Rivers of Light permanently closed

This is your argument, not mine. I was asking for your clarification on how a 50mW power plant is insignificant, and asked for some metrics on how a stage theater damaged the environment, other then you used to see a few squirrels there.

    LOOK AT THE BRIGHT SIDE

Yes, I think some procedures will remain as a result. Although in the future, people may relax on sanitation, and revisions made to policy, I think a post covid19 environment will be cleaner then the pre-covid environment.

    LOOK AT THE BRIGHT SIDE

The bright side is people taking hygiene and cleanliness more seriously.

News Primeval Whirl, Stitch's Great Escape and Rivers of Light permanently closed

Just to be clear. Are you really arguing that Disney caused irreparable damage to the environment by adding Rivers Of Light, and not continuing to support it? Would it have been okay if the show was still active? What are the metrics you are using to measure the loss of habit, and how is a...

    Jungle Cruise effects

Honestly, when I vacation on Disney, I am not doing a writing assignment to report town hall. They know the issues, and reporting only subtracts from my vacation enjoyment. But maybe that is just me.

News Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway opening day reports

Empty seats on an attraction worthy of a boarding group? Maybe on some attractions, but not headliners.

News Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway opening day reports

Still confused. Have you ever rope dropped? What attraction has empty seats? There are no empty seats on headliners. Any ride that has empty seats in the early morning, nobody is not going to want a Boarding Group for it anyways.
