    WEDfan9798's Disney Horizons Resort

Main Street USA Just like most Magic Kingdoms, you emerge in Town Square, a fitting homage to the small town America of the 1890-1920 period. This civic center boasts a firehouse, a police station (just a cover for the security office), City Hall, the post office (with actual mailboxes to send...

    New Imagineer Introduction Thread

I guess I've liked the projects that brought out the best in me. For example, I did a miniature model for a school presentation and my topic was a hand-picked favorite: Tiki culture. I really enjoyed decorating it. I am currently working on a project that will hopefully be completed within a few...

    WEDfan9798's Disney Horizons Resort

Here is my idea of the Magic Kingdom: Based on the standard layout of Disneyland and Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom, we have a new Magic Kingdom, one based on the five basic lands found at the various Disney castle parks: Main Street USA, Adventureland, Frontierland, Fantasyland, and...

    WEDfan9798's Disney Horizons Resort

Hi, I'm WEDfan9798, and I once developed an idea for a Walt Disney World-style resort based on a single word: Horizons. Once a staple of Epcot Center, it is now the basis for my ambitious resort. Thinking of the possibilities associated with the word "horizons", I developed a Magic Kingdom-style...

    New Imagineer Introduction Thread

Hello, I hope to be an official Imagineer someday. I do know that it's possible for me and my career path because I've been in themed design for a few years now, mostly designing museum-type exhibits. Anyway, I have had attraction concepts in my head since I was a little kid. I am hoping to be...

    Rumor BatB Rumor from Screamscape

I agree. Let's hope Management doesn't screw it up by suggesting to pull a "Florida Toad" on the classic dark rides. I just hope they never get rid of them, only enhance them like they have done in recent years.

    Favorite dark ride?

For me, it depends. My favorite ride is actually a tie between the Pirates of the Caribbean and the Haunted Mansion. Those two attractions are dark rides and they are examples of what I believe WED/WDI did best. Engaging, immersive masterpieces that deal with dark subjects with a certain humor...

    The Magic Kingdom’s First Decade

Technically, Space Mountain opened in December 1974 (with the Grand Opening occurring in Jan. 1975), but as with WRE, the plan as late as 1974 was to add the Western River Expedition (obviously on a less-grand scale than what WED originally envisioned between 1967 and 1969). It's interesting to...

    Disney movies that deserve attractions

I've thought about this a few times. What I hope to do someday is a Polynesian attraction similar in scope to Pirates of the Caribbean and New Orleans Square with the obvious theming adjustments. Besides, it would have some type of Tiki Room-style experience.

    Disney movies that deserve attractions

I mean I want a specific year if that's possible. I'm guessing it was sometime between 1966 and 1968, which is what I consider to be the initial design process of WDW. I'm trying to nail down years.

    Disney movies that deserve attractions

I never heard of a Babes in Toyland ride. Do you know more about it? Namely, when was it planned out for Florida?
