News Walt Disney World's COVID-19 reopening plans announced - July 11

They've already said that people with existing Disney resort reservations will get first crack, and that more information is forthcoming. People without reservations will not have access to the new system until they open the resort reservation and ticket sales to everyone. While they have not...

News Walt Disney World's COVID-19 reopening plans announced - July 11

I don't think they will be able to allow someone to park hop whenever they feel like it during the park reservation period. More likely, you would have to have a separate reservation, and their system might prevent anyone from reserving 2 parks on the same day, unless they allow you to select...

News Walt Disney World's COVID-19 reopening plans announced - July 11

While Disney did not release a firm number of days for the park reservation system, I don't see that going to more than the 60 day ADRs. The way things are going in this country with regards to the phased openings, it is very doubtful that Disney is going to need the in park reservation system...

Same here in that one still shows up - Via Napoli. The only others were all resort restaurants, so we'll have to see what happens with those once the new system is up and running.

Once it is live, yes, I believe the park reservations will be at 60 days also. So you make your MK reservation, and then that would open up the ability to grab ADRs for BoG, Skipper's Canteen, etc. for just that day.

News Walt Disney World's COVID-19 reopening plans announced - July 11

I agree, as I think they had to cancel even the non-park ADRs, as they do not know what the capacity of that restaurant is right now. I do wonder with their new system will they be able to hold back a few reservations for popular restaurants (like O'Hana or Chef Mickey for instance) for guests...

News Walt Disney World's COVID-19 reopening plans announced - July 11

Sorry, but I have to completely disagree. They have been planning a completely new reservation system for over a year. They talked about it at D23 last year, and stated that it would be rolled out later this year. They are adding the capability to do park reservations, and moving up the...

News Walt Disney World's COVID-19 reopening plans announced - July 11

There is little to no possibility that you will be able to change parks on a whim the day of, at least initially. Everyone is going to be booking at 60 days, and I doubt that Disney will hold any day of reservations for the parks. Again, initially. Once they start adding capacity each week...

DVC resale prices affected by the current situation ?

Sorry, should have added "WDW". Aulani may be the last to open, as until Hawaii even allows tourists, there is probably not any reason to open it. I think we'll hear something from the county about possibly opening VGC in July.

    July 11, Opening

Makes sense, but the county is making all the decisions nowadays.

Furious?? Pretty strong reaction for what is essentially a hotel. And yes, I’ve stayed DVC there.

All DVC resorts will be open by June 22, and that could make for a very relaxing vacation.

Disney Vacation Club Phased Reopening Announcement & Member Services Interpretation

Not sure why you think that. Almost everywhere is already in phase 2, and phase 3 can happen in just a few weeks, which removes a lot of restrictions. The alleged experts predicted a month ago that we would be in the midst of an even worse 2nd outbreak, and that simply hasn’t happened. So...

Better than the 60 day window for points in holding, though still restrictive.

They would have the normal 11 month home resort and 7 month other resort rules. If banked, then that changes the rules, as stated on their website. They will not be extended like regular points.

Disney Vacation Club Phased Reopening Announcement & Member Services Interpretation

The reason I asked if they were developer points is the following from the DVC website: In addition, to better support Member availability, Disney Vacation Club is not eligible to use the 6-month extension on previously banked developer Points.

With the way things are going, and it seems, no massive new outbreak of COVID-19, I think all restrictions will be gone by September at the latest.

Disney Vacation Club Phased Reopening Announcement & Member Services Interpretation

Since DVC members aren’t restricted from making new reservations, why would you even think that they are all of a sudden going to start canceling some???? Disney said that existing ticket holders get first crack at park reservations, so we’ll have to wait and see what happens when they reopen...
