I just saw a couple random things about Scan in gates being installed at the Disneyland hotel to keep non resort guests from accessing the property. 😒
How the hell am I supposed to get drunk at Racists Sams now?!!!! For a company that wants to be inclusive, this is anything but. Its discrimination that non hotel guests can't go to the hotel. #CANCELDISNEY

The site that posted the Scan gates mentioned that CM's said that the Disneyland hotel property/area would only be closed to non-resort guests when Disneyland and DCA were not open. So they plan to imprison the Hotel guests at night? o_O

But only the Grand California is opening later this month. Both the DLH and PPH will not be opening at this time, with no planned reopening date at this time.

So yes, for security purposes.

Will DTD parking go back to free now that the parks are open?
DTD actually raised their prices. Believe they were previously a flat rate of $10 and have now gone back to the rates below. So yeah, not going to free. We went for early Mother’s Day lunch and it was packed…not in a bad way as it was great to see people resuming life. No wait to get in and waits to enter stores was very short, at least for the handful we entered.

The first hour of parking costs $10. Validations apply after the first hour of paid parking.

Enjoy an additional 3 hours of same-day parking with a $20-minimum purchase and validation from any Downtown Disney location—or up to 5 additional hours of same-day parking with validation from any Downtown Disney table-service restaurant.

Beyond these validations, each additional hour costs $14, charged in 30-minute increments, with a minimum $7. The maximum daily parking and lost ticket fee is $66. Parking is subject to capacity.

Disney+ Favorites Decorate Downtown Disney District at Disneyland Resort

Jon Price

by Jon Price, Sr. Synergy Manager

If you’re anything like me, you’ve been enjoying the latest releases and greatest favorites from Disney, Pixar, Star Wars, National Geographic, and more on Disney+. Now you can find fun photo opportunities and art decorating the Downtown Disney District at Disneyland Resort celebrating movies and series coming to the streaming service.

The Mighty Ducks: Game ChangersSet in present day Minnesota, the Mighty Ducks have evolved from scrappy underdogs to an ultra-competitive, powerhouse youth hockey team. After 12-year-old Evan Morrow (Brady Noon) is unceremoniously cut from the Ducks, he and his mom, Alex (Lauren Graham), set out to build their own team of misfits to challenge the cutthroat, win-at-all-costs culture of youth sports today. With the help of Gordon Bombay (Emilio Estevez), they rediscover the joys of playing just for love of the game.

Big ShotAfter getting ousted from the NCAA, a men’s basketball coach is given a chance for redemption with a coaching position at an elite private high school. He soon learns that the teenage players require empathy and vulnerability — foreign concepts for the stoic Coach Korn (John Stamos). By learning how to connect with his players, Marvyn starts to grow into the person he’s always hoped to be. The girls learn to take themselves more seriously, finding their footing both on and off the court.

Star Wars: The Bad Batch – The series follows the elite and experimental clones of the Bad Batch as they find their way in a rapidly changing galaxy in the immediate aftermath of the Clone War. Members of Bad Batch—a unique squad of clones who vary genetically from their brothers in the Clone Army—each possess a singular exceptional skill that makes them extraordinarily effective soldiers and a formidable crew.

High School Musical: The Musical: The Series – Season two of “High School Musical: The Musical: The Series,” East High, who are preparing to perform “Beauty and the Beast” as their spring musical, face off against rival school North High to win a prestigious and cutthroat student theater competition. Wigs are snatched, loyalties are tested, and ballads are belted.

CruellaAcademy Award winner Emma Stone stars in Disney’s “Cruella,” an all-new live-action feature film about the rebellious early days of one of cinemas most notorious – and notoriously fashionable – villains, the legendary Cruella de Vil. The film will release simultaneously in theaters and on Disney+ with Premier Access for a one time additional fee on Friday, May 28.
dtdp-203498029384023948234.jpg

Also, in celebration of Asian Pacific American Heritage Month, Disney+ is proud to honor the stories and voices of the diverse Asian American and Pacific Islanders community—from beloved family adventure films to imaginative animated shorts to captivating docuseries in the Celebrate AAPI Heritage set. And I’m excited to share that the “Raya and the Last Dragon” art installation designed by Imagineer Xiao Qing Chen will be on display at Downtown Disney District through May in celebration of Asian Pacific American Heritage Month as well.

Photo opportunities and art will change throughout the year, so keep an eye out for the latest from Disney+ on your next visit to Downtown Disney District. Be sure to check out World of Disney or scan the shopDisney QR codes located nearby for official Disney+ merchandise.

With more than 13,000 series and movies, there’s a lot to choose from. What’s your favorite thing to watch right now on Disney+?

Seeing a multi-paragraph blog post trying to make people excited about advertisements placed on an abandoned building is something I didn't expect when I woke up this morning.

This blog post is embarrassing.

It's not only embarrassing, it's pathetic. And the empty building isn't good either.

It's an abandoned 20 year old ESPNZone that's been closed for 3 years. They slathered it in clip art from the latest TV shows and crap on Disney+. Then a guy who actually earns a living as a Senior Synergy Manager in an Orlando cubicle farm pukes up some word pablum for a corporate blog hardly anyone reads about how awesome the clip art looks on the abandoned building he's never actually seen because it's 2,500 miles from his Florida cubicle. And he barely makes it across Celebration Place to Applebee's or Five Guys.

This is what the Walt Disney Company has reduced itself to. And it's pathetic.

I really miss when this corner of DTD had life to it. :(

Back before the drop off zone near ESPN was removed in favor of security screening, I used to love getting dropped off right behind the Rainforest Cafe' and walking into DTD here at night. The pandemic can't even be blamed for this sectors downward spiral and it's really just a sad sight. I can hardly bring myself to walk past the Monorail station these days.

It’s things like this that encourage me to continue visiting places I’ve never visited before, or just simply go to CityWalk.

Mini update: So apparently after the Mickey Mouse pop-up ended, Disney Performing Arts moved in and converted the space into the studios they use for arts outreach. Honestly not the worst thing to happen to the building, and the inside looks quite nice still from the pop-up.

Of course, they've all since been laid off sadly, but at least the building was put to some use prior to the pandemic, and hopefully as we get back to normal they can return to using the building (until they find a better use for it).
