Getting back to your resort late at night

If you have a 9pm dining reservation at one resort, is it possible to get back to the resort at which you’re staying after your meal? For example, eating at Beaches & Cream, and returning to Poly.

Thanks in advance

Depending on the time of year, you'd have to transfer at a theme park (walking to Epcot or Studios) or bus to MK. Pretty sure AK is closed by that time no matter what. Otherwise, you'd have to bus it to Springs and transfer to a resort bus there.

Uber/lyft are our modus operandi most of the time.

As stated, it all depends on the various operating hours, your location, your destination and even your park tickets.

The base would be a bus to Disney Springs and then a bus to your resort but different locations have different options. For your example, if the Magic Kingdom is open late enough you could take a bus there and then use the monorail, watercraft or even the walking path to get to the Polynesian Village. If you had been in Epcot that day and it is still open you could walk through the park to the monorail. If Disney’s Hollywood Studios is open late you could walk, take the Skyliner or boat to that park and bus to the Polynesian. Heck, if you wanted to be crazy you could even take every mode of transit at Walt Disney World: Boat from the Beach Club to the International Gateway, Skyliner to one of the hotels or even Disney’s Hollywood Studios, bus to Magic Kingdom and then monorail to the Polynesian.

You definitely want to uber. It costs like $10 or something. You don't want to waste a couple of hours at night waiting to transfer at DS, goodness

Best to find out what the transportation system is before going to the resort where the reservation is. Disney Transportation doesn't go from resort to resort. Late night you need to go to a park and then pick a bus to the resort you want to go to. Or go to Disney Springs and get a resort bus. Otherwise Uber type of transportation. If you have your own car, take it to the reservation. Maybe by then the monorail will be running from Epcot and you can somehow get there and take it to Ticket and Transportation Station and walk over to the Poly. Disney somehow made the decision not to run any bus from resort to resort. The only bus to do this was Magical Express and Disney is doing away with the ME.
