Rumor Figment, well, to be replaced by Figment

They should just close it all together. Cuz with it breaking down frequently (from what I heard). It’ll just save the parks money on operation costs

This is a dumb suggestion. You don't like this ride, so they should shut it down. Let's give more excuses to shuttering rides and reducing capacity in the name of saving money.

The thing should have been replaced 15 years ago with a proper update, but what we have is better than nothing. If you don't like it, don't go there.

Let us have something during these challenging times.

Sorry for being a poopy pants, but there's plenty of Disneyana to focus on that's real and hopeful rather than a fan-fueled non-rumor that will only lead to perpetual disappointment. Don't let this be another Yeti thread of insufferable suffering.

Time to move through the stages of grief, because... it's dead, Jim.

We know nothing, ultimately. We hear things from insiders and either get more hope or lose it. But as we’ve seen with current events, everything can change at the drop of a hat.

This virus is going to kill travel and Disney is going to have to rely on APs to keep the parks thriving. It may not be the typical WDW model, but it’s what has saved Disney Parks in the past - their loyal customers, not the elusive once-in-a-lifetime visitors that they’ve been focused on.

And who do APs at WDW love? Figment.

For every reason listed as to why it won’t happen, there are just as many reasons that it will.

Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if they just refreshed some of the scenes and re-utilized the screens, slap another 2 words on the title, and call it "NEW!" on the maps.
Just reshoot it with some celebrity Dreamfinder instead of Eric Idle and animate Figment on a Source Film Maker budget instead of the current PS1 Figment and call it a day.

I think we all need to come to terms with the fact that we're most likely never going to see a worthwhile attraction in this pavilion ever again. That being said, if they were to just refresh what's there it would still be better than nothing.

I think there will be a worthwhile attraction there eventually (or at least a new one... who knows if it'll be worthwhile), but it may have nothing to do with Figment or even imagination at all. And it's years away.

We're in the News and Rumor section of the forums.

There are no Insiders saying we'd see anything happening in the greater Imagination Pavilion for at least five years. So, no trustworthy rumors of any changes.

Certainly no news of changes.

So... please let this thread die.

If you want to do armchair imagineering... there's a whole different section of the forum for that. Start a new thread there.

It's dead.

The people at PIXAR do seem to be pretty big Figment fans... in addition to the cameos he had in Inside Out and Toy Story 4, I couldn't help but notice that the mascot of Ian's school in Onward looks very much like a green version of Figment.

If Pixar ever made a film adaptation of Figment, the Oriental Land Company would pay for an amazing ride and the domestic parks wouldn't get anything.
