Just wanted to say thank you for all of the helpful tips and suggestions everyone provided for my most recent trip to Disneyland/DCA. It was whirlwind to say the least, tackling both parks, back to back days and on a double holiday weekend! The advice was invaluable! Plus, I managed to snag an early boarding group for Rise of the Resistance! I’ll be the first person to tell you that I couldn’t care any less about Star Wars if I tried. But after visiting Galaxy’s Edge and experiencing Rise, I get what the fuss is about.

This trip especially helped me develop a real appreciation for DL and I can’t wait to get my annual pass once I move to SoCal in a few months!

Thanks again, everyone! Now off to plan my trip to WDW for the 50th anniversary!

Remember, Southern California is MUCH more than just the Disneyland Resort.

Explore getting Memberships/Passes for other places

So many different Amusement/Theme Parks/ from the small Adventure City, Belmont Park, Castle Park, Pacific Park and more, to the big ones in Knott's, SeaWorld, LEGOLAND, Universal and Six Flags Magic Mountain.

Water Parks, including Raging Waters, Hurricane Harbor, Knott's Soak City, Aquatica (becoming Sesame Place) and the return of Wild Rivers.

Aquariums like Scripps/Birch and Aquarium of the Pacific.

Zoos like the large San Diego Zoo/Safari Park and Los Angeles, to smaller Santa Ana and Orange County.

Museums like Discovery Cube, Bowers, etc.

There are many helpful people here, so let us know where you end up in the SoCal region, and we can give suggestions that you might like, and heck, since we are all different, some you might not like...

Good luck on the move.

Very true! I’m a huge fan of the San Diego Zoo and had the chance to do the overnight

very true! Thanks so much for offer to help once I’m officially a SoCal resident. I love the San Diego Zoo and it will be pretty close to where I’m moving so I’ll definitely be getting a pass. Can’t wait to explore everything the region has to offer.

One category I forgot, the County Fairs. San Diego, Orange County and Los Angeles are some of the biggest in the nation. And they offer season passes. I pay $25 for the OC one. Lots of deals out there.

If you are going to be in the San Diego area, check out Balboa Park and all the museum's there. Basically next door to the San Diego Zoo. Also the Maritime Museum and USS Midway near the airport.

And almost every casino in SoCal offers free play and gifts for new members of their Clubs, aka tracking cards. Best thing to do, don't gamble more than the free plays. Check put the casino, get a meal, and enjoy the drive to/from the casino.

@Minnie1986 what a gracious and wonderful thank you note that was!

I've been on this specific board for many years, and so many of the regulars here respond to requests for vacation planning help and offer up our insight and ideas for those new to Disneyland. We often answer specific requests for help by folks we've never seen here before. And then.... that poster disappears entirely and never comes back to say thank you, often not even bothering to respond to the very thread they created for their own benefit.

But you my dear lady, are the exception to that unfortunate rule! With that simple thank you post you just impressed a lot of us and are a valued member of the community here.

I bet your mom made you write thank you notes for every birthday gift, didn't she? :D

Excellent guess because she sure did! The woman is a debutante through and through. Thank you so much for this reply. So glad to know that I’ve been welcomes into this great group of people and I hope to be able to repay the kindness one day!
