Try signing in a couple times in a row.

I had that problem with iOS problems this morning

And the first episode was AWESOME...by the way.

A breath of fresh air. And “directed by Dave filoni” “written by Jon Favreau” definitely showed
It started to work that evening for me on the xbox and the app. And yes, the first episode was awesome. Yes, having "creatives" that actually really know star wars, and letting them do their thing. Great idea! I wonder whos been saying that all this time? 🤔

I hope it continues on the, this is awesome, trajectory. I think it will. Based off of just that first episode, you can tell it was a more hands off approach from the overloards. Or they have learned some leasons. Either way, I'm happy with it.

Couldn’t agree more...I look forward to great discussions on it

Waiting to watch it with my brother but with all these reactions I guess I can just make this statement now: I’m inspired to become a great scientist and make the worlds first machine for multiverse travel so I can visit a universe where Filoni and Favreau were in charge of the sequel trilogy. Then I’ll bring back my findings to show people how much better the movies could’ve been.

I watched the HDR version on my larger TV and it looked amazing.
Good to know. Hopefully it was just a fluke for me and perhaps had something to do with the time I watched it and whatever issues they might have had with the stream but all the blacks were very gray and everything looked terribly washed out. Hopefully the next episode will look better on my TV. I tried watching some of the Star Wars movies and they all looked incredible. Loving that Disney gave us HDR versions to enjoy.

Disney+ is live so turn away now if you don’t want spoilers.

Overall, I was impressed with the first episode. It’s visually stunning. I was drawn into the story, despite it being vague in terms of bounty hunting an unknown target.

Maybe a bit heavy handed with the references? The two characters surviving that lopsided shoot out was John Wick levels of ridiculousness. Another amusing droid is added to the Star Wars mythos.
That was straight out of Sam Peckinpah's The Wild Bunch and Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid! Although it ended much better for the hero's here haha. This series is dripping with western film influence!
You guys need a crash course in the spoiler tag...like this:

so the report that it was “a western” take on Star Wars was entirely accurate and worked perfectly.

The look/feel is the closest to R1/OT...which was 1000% intentional.

The last scene was an angle on perhaps the longest/biggest fan mystery/want in history. 39 years and running. Predates the EU, basically.
Full disclosure: I realized EXACTLY what it was when the droid said “some species age more quickly than others”

It was perfect...and still obvious. Executed wonderfully.

Back to front: this show...Favreau...filoni...even further reinforces that Kennedy is DONE. There is nothing about that show that pays any homage to the awful ST...the writing is on the wall.

Don't really see how my post was spoiler-y... Sorry if you never picked up the western influence in Star Wars... Or are you meaning me spoiling Butch Cassidy and the Wild Bunch films... If so then I'm sorry because those are sone true classics of cinema!

Yours not so much...but the show is 36 hours old...shouldn’t we spoiler everything?

So, for those keeping score at home... when Kathleen Kennedy picks people who make something you don't like, it's evidence she's getting fired? And then when Kathleen Kennedy picks people who make something you do like, it's evidence she's getting fired?

Well...we’ll see...

But you’re right...not the time or place for that conversation. I’ll stay on the “positives” on this one...not the overall tone of the division/IP

Personally, I like the force awakens, Rouge one, Solo and so far I like this a lot. Would I say this is evidence Kennedy is getting the can? No. That evidence came up well before this show came out. What this series tells me so far, is that if you hire the right people, and let them create, good things can happen. Is that a strike against Kennedy? Personally I would say yes.

It doesn’t have really anything to do with the product...well...one definitely.

It’s the signs/sequence of events shown, igers comments/strategic direction, and impact to the money making ability of the franchise tracked by business analysts since 2015:

People are canned in Hollywood for MUCH less.

The good example is justice league...the two studio heads at warner were brought in AFTER the movie was underway...but they took the fall and were fired after it flopped nonetheless. Somebody takes the fall to send a financial message.

And if they aren’t fired...you get a public show of support.

Did that happen at lucasfilm? Do a little investigating and then look at it.

Ok...anyway...back to the mandalorian...promo on nfl network tonight had scout troopers on speeder bikes.

Real ones...not “retakes” on them like the abrams/Johnson crap.
If we keep getting Jedi references...when the tech was cool and has lasted 35 years...i’m More than down with that.

I didn't see that promo but all you need to say is biker scout and I'm all in. That combo is by far my favorite thing in star wars outside of light sabers. That's whats been so great about this show. Unlike the movies where you see one Rodian in Rouge on, you have a great mix of old and new. I've been yapping about that since TFA. To think that not one species from the OT would be in JJs cantina or in Johnsons casino is crazy. So many cool new things to look at, and learn about. All while going "holy poop its a squidface!!!"
