What really es me off, besides how inept the security response was, is that they sent the men home with those women. They just beat the **** out of them in public, and you sent them all home in private. I'm sure that went well. Thank God they're now "investigating".

>>Several people in the park filmed the fight on cellphones as Disneyland employees and security scrambled to break up the incident.

The police say, "There was no video available at the time. We became aware of the video late last night. Now that we have the video, detectives will be following up to see if any criminal charges can be filed."

The video will be a key piece of evidence for investigators and say, "Now we can use the video to piece together who did what to who since none of them would cooperate at the time."

Unclear at this time how many people involved in the fight may face possible arrest.

Disney officials said of the incident, "We do not condone this behavior."<<

Yeah...that was bad.
Quite unfortunate for everyone involved.
People can indeed be agressive idiots even at the 'Happiest Place On Earth', which is indeed disturbing.

I think the most suprising thing, regardless of the CA law stipulations regarding situations like this, is the fact this happened so close to a backstage access area.
You would think security or even the APD could have arrived a little quicker considering the location.

Gah...this is such a mess.
I feel sorry for those Guests in Toontown who had to witness this public display of stupidity and violence.

>>A video posted to YouTube on Sunday captured a violent fight that broke out at Disneyland.

The footage, dated July 6, 2019, shows at least two men and two women involved in the brawl at Mickey's Toontown. Some tried to intervene and stop the altercation as children, along with other parkgoers, watched.

The guests, who are family members, were immediately escorted out of the park, a Disneyland official told KTLA.

"We do not condone this behavior," a statement from Disney said.

The case is now being investigated by Anaheim police, who did not immediately respond to request for more information.<<
Swap in 'eventually' for 'immediately' in the 3rd paragraph.

This looks terrible for Disneyland. They really will need to work on security after this, the PR alone will kill them. Something went very wrong with the way security dealt with this. It is absurd how long it went on, how many customers had to get involved, the whole thing is tragic.
Public is just that- it's a public place, there will always be incidents, but they truly need to have a more effective plan for dealing with violence in the parks.

Disneyland isn’t a public place, though, it’s private. People have to pay to get in and Disney is free to prevent whoever they want from entering. Guests like this should not be able to even get through the gates.

I know I’m being elitist, but if known day is going to cost me $150, I’m entitled to expect decency from other guests.

Not to downplay this but people are going to forget about this in a few days. Just the way the world works. Too many things competing for our attention.

It will only become a bigger thing if something similar repeats itself in the next few months.

Once you've got two separate viral video incidents on your hands, your PR problem grows exponentially.

Security, you have failed this day. There is NO reason with all the money Disney makes that they can't have a better response time than this. Pretty ridiculous. Disneyland isn't even that big. Come on...

This is an extremely bad look for Disneyland. Just wow.

It's a private place by ownership, but it's open to the public. Thus the "public" will be there. There is no way to absolutely screen for perfect guests. Plenty of wealthy people are also violent.

Was the security budget brought down under Chapek? If anyone remembers that incident outside Tower of Terror several years back, it seemed like security was all over the guy and got him down to the ground quickly. Not using this as an opportunity to hate on Chapek, but I wouldn’t be surprised if he had budgets slashed as we know he has done elsewhere for the cast.

Yeah but usually not in public.

Also, on another similar note, let’s get rid of alcohol in Disneyland.
