I was just wondering the same!

He has a projected mouth in RSR, so I suspect it'll be the same here... but I can't imagine it coming across quite as well if he's the centerpiece of a full show.

Hi all. The Disney Parks blog posted a couple weeks ago that the new Lightning Mcqueen show was opening at Hollywood Studios on March 31st. However, my sister went to WDW this past week and got a VIP Tour, and her tour guide told her that he is hearing that it is not actually going to open until the fall around when Star Wars opens? Anyone have any inside info about this? We are going in July and my almost 3 year old son is obsessed with the Cars franchise. I was so hoping that this would open for us. Thanks.

No change to March opening that I am aware of. I would think somewhere your sister/tour guide got some wires crossed.

Are we sure these aren’t just the old meet and greet static figures? They move those around a lot and are used at things like runDisney races.

I would assume they're the standard meet 'n greet figures. Animatronics would probably be transported with a bit more protection, no? And likely in pieces since the outer shells would be installed around the inner mechanics.

Yeah, the video from a few weeks ago appears to show Lighting already installed in the space.

Hearing some very impressive capacity numbers on this. Turns out that Sunset Showcase can hold more people than expected which, coupled with the shorter show structure, should easily give this a higher capacity than some of DHS's rides.
