Muppets Thru Space!!

View attachment 270962

We first have to be honest with ourselves in the fact that Muppetvision 3D isn't going to return to DCA anytime soon but with saying that I don't think that having no Muppets in the entire resort is a good idea either considering all the work that Eisner went through to acquire them in the first place; therefore, the Muppets will take over the Star Tours building once Star Wars: Galaxy Edge opens to bring these lovable characters back to the park.

One thing that still fits the Tomorrowland theme (for now) is recreational space travel and Star Tours does that quite well (while also fitting in the Star Wars IP beautifully); the Muppets see this open opportunity as a chance for them to make their own space travel company to eventually build a new theatre on the Moon where their new shows will take place.

Muppets Thru Outer Space (As a mini callback to Adventures Thru Inner Space), will allow guests to load into a Muppet-fied rocketships (looking eerily similar to the Starspeeder), including a very important safety spiel from none other than Sam the Eagle, and have their brave captain, Gonzo the Great, guide them to the moon and back safely( about as "safe" as Gonzo can be) while showing the sights and sounds of the universe among us.

BOUNS:

Mickey's Philharmagic will finally make it's West Coast debut including new scenes from newer Disney Movies including Frozen, Moana, and more!

I love how much you love the Muppets!

Hi, I'm new here, I wish to get involved with many competitions in the future, but for now here's my submission.

WALL-E'S JUNK FLIGHT

WALL-E has found (and accidentally started) a spaceship in a pile of junk. However, his piloting skills aren't the best. So join an animatronic WALL-E as you fly through heaps of trash, and hopefully get home safely in this all new simulator attraction!

-Bonus-
Path of the Jedi will be on it's way out for an all new 4D Film starring Dreamfinder and Figment,

Please Note- The grading system for The One Sentence Competition- Season 4 Episode 2 has been reinvented from previous One Sentence Competitions and whats been previously in the assignments.

This is the new grading system.

Creativity- Is it creative?
Detail- Do you make the most of your sentences allotted? Do I understand what your submission is about?
Realism- Is it (generally) realistic? Is it something Disney will/could build? Are there patents related to your submission?
Theme- Does it fit thematically? Does it fit visually?
Originality- Is it original?
Effort- Is effort shown?

Also a reminder that your submissions WILL NOT be graded until after the due date. So, you are allowed to change your submission until 11:59 Friday!

Have fun! Critiques will be up later today!

PROMPT #1
DISNEYLAND PARK

b_Qh-qOj6ML6dGHqLb4wvkPcZUJAdQyine9KSndmJdE5S_CL0V7WqPG_c3vWAki16KfwYf0x_QgsFW3BtP5tpCTSdzswqQ0XGz21JkOfejpxb2i42401nlHdgV_veYBKX879xuLo

Your Disney Cruise Ship has just taken you to Walt Disney’s original Magic Kingdom, Disneyland Park. This magical kingdom is where your dreams come true, and you can get more happy as you sail with pirates, explore exotic jungles, meet fairytale princesses, dive under the ocean, and rocket through the stars.

-Background Information-
As some of us know, Disney is creating a tiny project called Star Wars- Galaxy’s Edge. This 14 acre land takes place on the original planet Batuu, which is “a remote outpost on the galaxy’s edge was once a busy crossroads along the old sub-lightspeed trade routes, but its prominence was bypassed by the rise of hyperspace travel”.

Meanwhile, lands away is Tomorrowland, a bustling galactic spaceport where you can fight the evil emperor Zurg or soar through a galaxy far far away.

Tomorrowland is full of Star Wars experiences, including Star Wars Launch Bay and the famous Star Tours- The Adventures Continue.

-Challenge-
Since Star Wars is getting its own land, it's time for Star Tours- The Adventures Continue to stop giving flights. Create a new ride to replace Star Tours- The Adventures Continue. Your only requirement is must still remain a simulator. But other than that, you are free to do whatever! Have an original character like Figment, or create an IP ride. Your choice! Have fun!

-Bonus-
Create a new movie to be shown where Star Wars Path of the Jedi is currently showing. It must use 4D effects and be themed to an IP. Describe in 1 sentence!

-Rules-
You may use between 1 and 3 sentences and up to 1 image. The deadline is Friday, March 23, 2018 at 11:59 EST. Critiques will come following.

-Please Note-
Critiques may not be posted immediately, since @disney forever and I will be working on them together. We apologize for the inconvenience.

-Tips-
K.I.S.S. – Keep it simple, silly. Try not to complicate or overthink things too much. It’s a simple, casual competition – there are no eliminations. Propose as you please!

-Judging Criteria-
Is it creative?
Is it (generally) realistic?
Does it fit thematically/visually?

-Reminders-
This is the first prompt where you points will be added. As a reminder, everyone who submits something as well as follows the rules will get 1 point. 3 awards are given for each challenge. The three awards are Bronze (+1 points), Silver (+2 points), and Gold (+3 points). Everyone who submits gets a point, but Bronze, Silver, and Gold winners get additional points.

When using an IP, the IP must be owned by The Walt Disney Company (Disney Animation, Walt Disney Studios, Pixar Animation Studios, Lucas Films, 20th Century Fox, Marvel), OR it must be an original IP. No exceptions (unless otherwise noted)

Follow the rules, posted here!

Good luck everyone! If you have questions, don’t be afraid to ask. Now go imagineer!

Here goes...

MISSION TO MARS

DESCRIPTION: A revival of the old Mission To Mars attraction (which seems relevant given the passing of Stephen Hawking). Visit Mission Control (the old C-3PO/R2-D2 queue), then blast off on a journey to Mars.

BONUS: The Avengers vs. Ultron, and the Avengers are calling on your help!

Sorry it's not my best...

PRACTICE PROMPT
CRITIQUES

Before we review the Practice Prompt Proposals, we would like to say how impressed we are with everyone's proposals! They are all really great!

Note from @Disneylover152- I will be going through my fourth nor'eastern in 20 days tomorrow. As a result, I may lose my electricity and the last Nor'Eastern I had, I was without power for three days (and some people have been without power since the first one on March 2) and had to clean up so much storm damage, including getting a new fence. If I do lose power, the submission date will be extended. Also, if anyone is going through the same thing that I am about so many Nor'Eastern's lately, I will be giving a grace period of 24 hours after submissions are due. So as of now, I will be giving a grace period until Saturday at 11:59pm EST, but it may change depending on how bad the storm is tomorrow. I hope this competition won't be affected, but I am taking extra precautions.

With that being said, here are your critiques for the Practice Prompt!

Okay, here's my idea for a new stage show, which I don't believe has ever been done on a Disney ship or anywhere else. It's a stage show version of the Disney classic "Pinocchio".

Three word description:

It's a straightforward retelling of the story, condensed and simplified in the interest of a stage show. The best way to describe it is to put the two segments of the movie from the old Disney On Parade show (there were TWO "Pinocchio" scenes there!), and put them together.

Image (for puppet show scene):
View attachment 270386

NOTE: I looked it up, and I found out that one of the ships has a stage show featuring a scene from "Pinocchio" as part of a larger show in general, but not an entire show devoted exclusively to this movie.

Pinocchio is a really original choice for a musical. Disney on Broadway performed it in London over the summer, but it wasn’t really that good! Pinocchio is something that if performed right, it would be an amazing. Hopefully some new songs will be added, as the movie lacks them.

The Disney Shows on the cruise lines are some of the best, and Pinocchio seems like a great choice to add onto the cruise ships musicals. Hopefully it turns out better than the current Pinocchio musical and Toy Story the Musical.

Effort is shown and this project is mostly original, with few things like this before. The show is something realistic and I feel that Disney could build this in the future! In the future, a little more detail will be greatly appreciated! Great first submission!

Bonus: None? Remember these are blue sky! Just try! You have nothing to lose!

La Fonda de Elena

View attachment 270651

Remy’s, at Disney Fantasy, will be closing this Fall, as a new Pixar’s Coco themed restaurant will be taking its place; La Fonda de Elena.

Since she was a child, Elena Rivera dreamt of opening a restaurant that showcased the authentic taste of the Mexican Food to the world, however, after being taught the way of the Riveras by Mamma Imelda herself, Elena choose to give up her dream for the life of a shoemaker; now that Miguel helped her remember the importance of following our dreams, she decided to take the risk, you’ll be able to join Abuelita on her adventure starting from the Summer of 2019.

As expected, Mamma Imelda and Héctor couldn’t be more proud of Miguel and Elena, since they followed their dreams without forgetting the importance of family, and when the day comes, Mamma Imelda will be sure to tell them so.
Bonus:
Cancún Bay, will be full of color and vibrancy, as it will feature a similar nighttime ambiance to the Mexico Pavilion at Epcot; alongside La Fonda de Elena, you'll also be able to enjoy a Margarita Bar, whose name will be announced as we get closer to its opening, a stage where Mariachis will be performing from time to time, some Mexican Art exhibits, and a secret entrance to the Land of the Dead, where a state of the art playground will be found.

Yay! Coco! We really loved that movie when it came out and are hoping something opens with Coco in the parks! The story of the restaurant is detailed, and gives the right amount of information needed. We really hope there could be some fiestas like in the Character Breakfasts.

The Disney Cruise Line restaurants are really amazing, and this Coco restaurant seems like a great addition, plus who doesn’t like mexican? Mexican has something for everyone.

This project is very creative, with nothing in the world like it! This project also seems like something easy to duplicate for the World Showcase in Epcot or Pacific Wharf in DCA. With Coco’s success, this project seems something like Disney would build! Great job on your first submission!

Bonus: Great themed area for the Coco restaurant to be in. It will be really cool if the area could span three decks and feel like you are in Mexico! +1.

A New Deck for a New Fleet

View attachment 270683
Enjoy the Canto Blight Casino, which is an elaborately themed arcade that includes many virtual reality games (an epic flight simulator) as well as the traditional ones (Pacman, Fix it Felix).

The arcade/casino also features a signature dining restaurant called "Calrissian's" and a bar called "the Rose."

BONUS: The Deck features the world of Star Wars and a smaller version of Star Tours simulator.

Star Wars, Marvel and Pixar are three things Disney loves to implement in its Parks and Cruise Ships! You added Star Wars in an original way, and not the Jedi Training Academy.

Disney Cruise Ships don’t have casinos, which is a good thing. It keeps the family environment going. This adds a casino like environment, combined with a Dave and Busters atmosphere. Its Casino meets Dave and Busters meets Star Wars! Great idea! I would be cool if all the games could be Star Wars themed, but it seems as if it won’t since there will be Fix it Felix as well as Pacman. But that’s okay! It gives a variety!

The attached restaurant is also really great! People who visit might not like being next to the arcade and hearing all the noise, so that might be an issue. Especially since its a signature dining. Other than that, this seems project seems original and something Disney could build! Great first submission! A little more detail for your next submission though!

Bonus: Star Wars themed deck! It's like a mini version of the Star Wars Hotel! Great job incorporating a theme park ride onto the Deck! +1.

The Muppet Show... On Water!

View attachment 270835

In 2021, a new Disney Cruise Line ship will join the fleet which also happens to be the 40th anniversary of the end of the original Muppet Show that brought these lovable characters into popular culture history.

This show will have the classic Muppet show feel including the intro song, Veterinarian Hospital, Muppet News Flash, At The Dance, and more (it is important to note that there was an old show titled "Muppets Ahoy!" back in 2006 but that show focused more on the ship while this show will focus more on the old show)!

There will be 1-2 shows every night at approximately 35 minutes long due to scene transitions (the original was 22 plus commercials) and feature new special guests after every port of call stop to allow fresh guests every few nights.

Bonus:
A new Toontown-themed deck will feature everyone's favourite Mickey Mouse and co. characters!

I love the Muppets! It was such a big part on my childhood. A Muppet show is a really good idea, and can bring nostalgic fans flocking to see it, as well as introducing new fans to it.

The Muppets are in work for a Broadway Musical, and this seems like a great “test-run” for the Broadway Show. Really great idea! Its also a perfect length for children to sit still for. It also doesn't take up an entire night like some of these shows do! Great work!

Its original, creative, and fits the style of the Disney Cruise Ships! Detail was a perfect amount! Great job! I can't wait to see your future Muppet submissions!

Bonus: Not sure how Toontown fits the Muppets, but whatever! +1.

Dumbo at Sea

You've ridden Dumbo, The Flying Elephant at Disney Parks around the world, but you have yet to ride it on a Disney Ship! Perched atop the highest deck, this special version of the Magic Kingdom classic will allow riders to soar in the air, up and down, feeling the sea air in their faces.

Oh well... it's practice, right? At least it would boost Dramamine sales.

Great idea to bring a Disney Park family favorite at sea! You could get some amazing sunset views on top of Dumbo!

I was waiting for someone to bring an theme park ride to sea! This seems like a great idea for little ones and big ones alike! Who doesn’t like Dumbo. This is a very creative choice, and I could really see Disney doing this on one of their new ships. Afterall, Royal Caribbean’s Oasis Class ships have a carousel, why can’t Disney ships have a dumbo?

A little more detail would be appreciated next time, but great work!

Bonus: None? Remember these are blue sky! Just try! You have nothing to lose!

Moana: Journey to the Realm of Monsters
View attachment 270883
In one of the most meta things that The Walt Disney Company has done, while onboard their boats, guests have the ability to experience the first boat ride on a boat with the Journey of Moana. Guests will board their island rafts before plunging two stories into the realm of monsters, which is brought to life through stunning blacklight effects. Guests will wander past creatures, and escape the clutches of a 10 ft tall Tamatoa, before ascending a vertical lift for a village celebration finale.

Bonus: Guests can visit Motonui Marketplace, home of South Seas shopping and dining, where guests can also board, and embark on Moana: Journey to the Realm of Monsters.

Bringing a theme park ride to sea, amazing! But an original theme park ride with a Pirate's Style show building, hard to do! I don’t see Disney doing this in real life, mostly because it would be very hard to fit a show building of that size on the ship, as well as having the ship open to guests.

This idea is very creative, just curious on how Disney could get it to work! Maybe it could be a simulator?

Nevertheless, If this ride was on land I would love to ride it and give higher points, it just doesn’t see possible on a cruise ship. But as walt said “It’s kind of fun to do the impossible! A little less Blue-Sky next time, but you had an amazing idea and work! We can’t wait to see your future submissions!

Bonus: A Polynesian marketplace to a cruise ship! Brilliant! Would be so excited to see it in real life! +1.
