Hour long wait to get through TTC security today - May 23

Makes me wonder if something is causing more concern lately.

If WDW wanted to capitalize , they could have a CM going down the long line selling bottled water , etc.

They did on at least one Star Wars attraction but the CM's had a little booth to sell water etc.

Where did the parking lot golf cart go?
No trams, enforced walks, why would they not be hawking drinks in the lot?
Sigh, they need to hire me to clean up all the money being left behind

That's what certain management groups are paid to do. Dream up ways to boost profits, not just WDW.

Is there an increased ratio of on-site vs off site guests that could contribute to more people needing to go through TTC?

I know I had mentioned in one of the Tram threads how the last two times I've gone to MK the trams were not running when we got there at 9:30 AM -- we would be parked in Scar and walk with a horde of people to TTC. For us, the backup was right where you go under that bridge (the picture is just after where I speak of.

It never took us an hour to get through security from that point (but I imagine they could be doing more screening).

Anyway, I feel a lot of folks try to rope drop these days causing a lot of folks to arrive at the same time. The way things were done those two times I went recently is that as you follow this line, the guest from the parking lot are hoarded down to the last screening point (by the heroes Tram load/unload area. The closet screening point was being used for groups (schools and such) that arrive by bus to the TTC.

I imagine this all helps hotel guest enjoy their 30 minutes as the flow to the MK is somewhat controlled.

In my decades of going to the TTC, I have never seen it this bad. The worst I saw it was having to wait for a boat or two or a monorail or two.

Remember that TTC never used to do security screening, this big mess used to be at the entrance to MK. It’s just swapped locations.

WDW needs to evaluate each rides operational efficiency.

Yes the trams are not running first thing, which results in a mass of guests walking in. Combined with the low numbers of operational checkpoints, it creates a backlog. The whole process if very poorly operated and is a terrible way to start the day at the park.

That’s funny because every time I call the Magic back, they put me on hold for 5 hours. I love the hold music but I shouldn’t be able to memorize the order of the songs for the entire loop, yet here we are and here I am, burdened with this knowledge.

Oh, yes, good point. In my opinion, there should be screening there!
