You know what's funny?
FAUCI confirms 100% Omicron is less severe than Delta. It's a flip flop if he changes his stance later.

FAUCI confirms 100% Omicron more likely to infect young people who will not end up in hospital, EVER.

FAUCI confirms 100% Omicron will replace Delta as the dominant variant, in ALL cases everywhere and always.

FAUCI says vaccine ineffective. It's time to panic, stock up on end of world items.

That's just what Walensky wants you to think. FAKE NEWS! (I actually saw this one as a real genuine thought on Twitter.)

Acceptable. We're done, pandemic over. Is what some people are saying.

This one is real, PLEASE do all of these. Please.

Everything before this last quote is clearly sarcastic. At least for the next 3 pages. Then they will be real arguments put forth of what was actually said. 🤣
Why you so grumpy? He uses a lot of "might" and "could" in his language, eh? lol

I'm not grumpy today. Just getting ahead of it.

When we get to page 4685 or 4690, we'll see those all quoted without the "might" and "could" and told he was just making stuff up that he had no idea about.

It is kind of telling that he didn't just start with "What we know so far" and then give the rest of it. Instead, he qualified every single statement that none of them are really known yet but just suggested outcomes based on what we know so far. It's like he knows he cannot make two statements have them the retain context later. Each one has to be complete on its own. It must be exhausting trying to speak with every statement needing to stand on it's own without the surrounding statements providing context.

I think your urge to preemptively defend him is a pretty good reason why someone else should be delivering these messages. He is far too compromised in the eyes of many (obviously not just in here) and it would be more helpful for someone else to be a main spokesperson. I imagine his skills would still be beneficial behind the scenes.

for me personally, I am not that annoyed with his language use in this circumstance because I am used to it and I’m aware we don’t have a full picture of omicron. So I get it. It doesn’t hurt me and I’m not going to use it as a gotcha moment down the line.

Yeah rub it in. It snowed last night too. I'm over the midwest for the winter already ;)

It's more telling that people pick him apart so much that info is being dealt with this way. I take it as more promising news still.

Right now we're hearing that Omicron is more transmissible but not more severe. Assuming this holds up as we learn more in the coming weeks, the lesson to be learned couldn't be more clear.

COVID will continue to circulate. There's a good chance the majority of us, if not all of us, will catch it at some point.

If one is vaccinated, it will be a mild and/or manageable illness for the most part.

If anyone has been holding out on getting vaccinated, this is just the latest in what should have been a string of wake-up calls.

It continues to shock so many of us that so many people continue to fight against the obvious course of action.

And the more vaccinated the world becomes, the lesser chance of mutations, and greater likelihood of this becoming a manageable disease that pops up but doesn't overtake.

I just don't know if we have anyway to convince these people. So many are so far gone at this point with their heels dug in the sand so deep....

BioNTech CEO said today that the Omicron vaccine should also be 3 doses. So, make sure you get the next 4 boosters!
That’s not at all what he said.

The booster, the one millions of sensible people have already got, appears to work affectively against Omicron. No additional shot needed.

I have to say it feels good to finally be a step ahead of the virus rather than a step behind scrambling to catch up.

It's not a defense of him in this scenario. You were exactly correct that he effectively said "I don't know, but I think it's headed this way, time will tell us". It was a commentary on what we'll see in a week or two when we know more and some of those "think it's headed this way" turn out right or wrong. Doesn't matter who said it.

As I said before:
But I want answers now! 😭

Then, I want to latch onto those answers in the future forever more as being the one and only answer. 🤔

Off to read up on tips for getting on ROTR from December 2019, I'm sure that information is still correct...
PS: I read those ROTR tips, and they were all WRONG, every single one of them from December 2019 was a lie. I was forced to write off all of those bloggers, did NOT like and subscribe.

Not in Florida.... 😁 :cautious:
In this area, 2 hour plane ride, 10 hours driving from "the world" the hospitalizations have doubled in the last two weeks and no sign we are close to the top. Cases per 100K is the highest (by multiples) in the two states this area covers.
The ads for WDW run on a regular basis here.
Our area (Midland, MI) has an 18% positivity rate....
Whatever FL is doing? You are far better at this, than we are.
For now......

They already had their wave. You’re just having it later.

We had ours a few months ago also, we topped out around 17% test positivity in August but have been hovering in the 6-7% range now for several weeks.

For anyone wondering how well the vaccines work here’s some fun data from Las Vegas, where the world comes to party…

1.2% of vaccinated individuals have gotten sick, .06% have required hospitalization, and .02% have died.

The vaccines work!

OK, let me cue the minimizers and say that only shows the ones that were checked. The milder infections probably (maybe, might of, could) were not tested so there are multitudes of vax'ed that were infected just replicating the virus the same as the uninfected not shown in the graphs......

How about the vaccine maximizer who will say that this shows that vaccinated people don't need to wear annoying masks at WDW or in Vegas casinos?

So your saying on record there wont be any more boosters? Just the one?
