Also it was old, expensive to maintain, and had a low capacity. I also think it broke some basic theme park guidelines for immersiveness -- you could see rooftops, parking lots, and behind facades -- too much of the real world poking through the magic. Still loved it though.
Agreed. This was one of the thousand points of light that made WDW special. Every time one of the lights is extinguished, WDW becomes a little more like the rest of the world.

I live in NY (state) and I have a nephew who lives in NC. Ran into him once in line at BTM, and a few years later in a store in Myrtle Beach -- both complete surprises!
