No - it's much different. I can book FP's 60 or 30 days out very early from the comfort of my bed. If I had to do this same day at the park and drag my entire family with me, it would be a nightmare. I would VERY much dislike this.
I would for sure pay for FP's the first week of September when we go. We'll have two small children and won't be able to waste half a day in line at DHS.
WDW is not going to give up the FP+ system or the pre-scheduled FP's. The dream of WDW going to the Maxpass and being like DL is just that, a dream. They have been marketing the FP+ system and pre-planning more and more lately, so it isn't going anywhere.
I think you can still get day of FP's for free. You can hardly get the headliners anyways. It would be a MAJOR game changer for Disney to drop this, and impact the way a lot of people vacation! That would get a lot of blow-back too.
Do we think this will be announced and implemented THIS year? Or announced in the next few months to begin with 2020 packages being sold? It's kind of rude to change the rules on packages people bought a year ago!
I totally agree! We booked CL rooms this December in order to take advantage of the additional paid non-tiered FP's. If this is something now being offered to everyone, why should I stay in my CL room?? I'm seriously thinking of making another reservation not in CL, just in case. That's crazy!!
