That guy DEFINITELY crossed the line. I would certainly discuss this with guest services, if he did this with you he might do it with someone else who might not be able to deal with it as well as you and your friend. Listen to your instincts ladies, if it feels weird it is weird.

The Mid-day break is a great idea. Try making up games to play during the waits that will keep her occupied, ex - make a list of things to look for in the queue. Find items alphabetically in the queue. those sorts of things. and of course keep hydrated, being dehydrated can make you cranky.
