Definitely Animal Kingdom Lodge over SSR! The resort is much prettier, the room furnishings are nicer, and the theming is better. I also prefer the dining options at AKL!

Definitely Yacht Club club level! The hotel is beautiful and the location is much better than the location of AKL.

You can call and ask for a view of the animals. Then when you do online check in don't add any additional requests. Of course it depends on availability and there are no guarantees, but that's usually your best bet.
