Thanks... I knew that I would find somebody that was there that year that could give some personal experience. What I've been wondering is -- was she even AT WDW? it's been rather confusing about where she was in the state... she says Orlando, but she got there by traveling the coast down...

Ok... she said she talked to her cousin and she got things mixed up a bit. She said that it wasn't to conserve electricity, but for gas rations and the parks were only closed on Sundays during the rations. So, does this sound like it lines up with operating hours in 1973?

I thought there was a group that had purchased the Kansas City studio... heard about a yearly fund-raising event that the organization holds in order to restore the studio and turn it into a bit of a Walt museum, too.

I'd like to see more contests come about that don't necessarily need the parks in order to participate. Or even one where WDW isn't allowed in order to up the challenge a bit. :) These kind of contests are great for those of us that rarely get to visit the parks...
