    Anyone been to AbracadaBar lately?

How's this place doing amidst Covid? Is it kid friendly, or is it very much a BAR? I'd like to check it out, but my guess is that the Boardwalk is a ghost town these days?

Tourist brought AR-15 rifle, handgun to Disney World over worries about Orlando protests - Orlando Sentinel

Not an automatic weapon. AR-15's and other off the shelf firearms available to most people are not automatic. AR-15s are just picked on because they're "scary looking." There are plenty of other weapons that can do as much or more damage that don't have the reputation of the AR. Firearms...

Rumors for Remaining part of 2020

Yep. In our school district, probably 20% of the kids live in rural areas. It's impossible to clean up those roads quickly.

Rumors for Remaining part of 2020

"Snow days" aren't going away from schools; at least in my area. People don't want them to go away, and at least a third of the kids in our district won't participate in online school in that case. They're having a major problem getting them to do it now - ain't no way they'd do with with snow...

Tourist brought AR-15 rifle, handgun to Disney World over worries about Orlando protests - Orlando Sentinel

I guarantee you that there are always firearms on Disney property: in cars, in rooms, and until they installed metal detectors, in the parks. Some folks are packing eeeevvvvvvverywhere they go. ...and there's nothing wrong with that.

Guess the NBA bubble wasn’t the slam dunk Disney was hoping for

I love WDW. I love the Fox Theatre in Atlanta. I love Chattanooga's old train station, and the Pantheon in Rome. I love Fenway Park & Cooperstown. I wouldn't want to be locked inside of any of those places for 3-4 months, and I'd probably never want to return if I had been.

    Peoplemover closed for refurbishment

I'd just like to say that there was probably more thought put into the Tangled bathrooms than the Transformers ride...

A sequel? Nah, not this one

I don't get the hand-wringing about park attendance. Y'all know about the pandemic, right? I think it's overblown too, but all that negative hype has consequences. Parks, restaurants, movies, concerts, etc, aren't going to be back to normal for quite a while.

News Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser coming to Walt Disney World 2021

I'm very excited about this *most* unique experience. I don't think The Mouse has tried anything this bold since The Adventurer's Club.

Walt Disney World Park Hours cut starting September 8 2020

My favorite thing to do at WDW is walk around the World Showcase at night, eating at one of the restaurants. I literally have no reason to go now.

    The CGI Paradigm Shift

This is absolutely coming. Have you seen the "deep fake" video of President Nixon and a failed Moon landing? Very scary stuff. Fake actors are the last thing we have to worry about...

On layoffs, very bad attendance, and Iger's legacy being one of disgrace

That sounds nice and all, but it just means that the popcorn vendor will be let go. No one can afford to pay unskilled workers a "living wage."

On layoffs, very bad attendance, and Iger's legacy being one of disgrace

The good news is that WDW did not "peak" long ago. It is constantly evolving, and that evolution will bring changes good and bad - but like the stock market - you hope that you're moving up over time. I think WDW does that.

On layoffs, very bad attendance, and Iger's legacy being one of disgrace

I've been going to WDW since the '70s, and its better now than it was then. Yes, they made some changes that I wish they had not made, (Mr Toad, gutting the Main Street shops...) but I understand why they made the changes, and they are entirely defensible. For the most part, the only bad...

On layoffs, very bad attendance, and Iger's legacy being one of disgrace

I think this is the perfect time to point it out, in a forum like this. Mean is doing it publicly to someone's face. If a job doesn't pay a living wage, then don't expect to make a living while working that job. Get a different job. I love to watercolor, and I'm pretty good at it. I doubt I...
