Question...when this happens (a surprise mechanical/engineering issue), does Disney deploy show/set dec imagineers when they know things will be unexpectedly down for a while to clean things up and do some maintenance also?
What if WDI are taking the down time to scope out the ride, space and area to tear down Whirl and Build Raging Spirits in its place....change Dino to Indy and.....IJL it is.
Obviously....but not exactly the sole focus of that land today (Asia), and given Asia is a bridge away from Dinoland today, is an India mini-land (or expansion of Asia) next door all that far fetched?
Pipe dream here....but wouldn’t it be great if...replace Dinoland USA with An India land, featuring the Jungle Book boat ride, and retheme the existing Dinosaur ride to INDIA-na (see what I did there) Jones and the Temple of Doom, which just so happens to take place in....wait for it....India...
Not actually true. It’s the flagship resort, for sure, but the company actually favors DL over WDW in almost all areas, including spend on upgrades, enhancements, maintenance, etc.
So I have been monitoring crowd levels/wait times through the apps for DL (and WDW Parks) for the past 2 weeks....I was always under the impression the DL has historically been the busiest/most crowded park based on its relatively smaller size and lean towards day visitors not week long...
