    Spaceship in Spaceship Earth

Those are miniatures from the Space Mountain queue. Not sure if they’re there anymore though.

where are the 20k leagues vehicles buried

Windows Live Local was taking the bird's eye pictures AS THE SUBS WERE BEING BURIED! If you go to look at the subs (pretty much due west of the Magic Kingdom) on Live Local and switch the perspectives you can see this. You can see them barely sticking out in this picture. I wonder what's in...

recipes on wdwrecipes.com - question on dole whip

It DOES. I've done it with the official powder mix and it works just fine, just be sure to get the ratio of water to mix correct. The Cuisinart Soft Serve machine is not necessary, a regular ice cream maker works fine (it did for me). Just scoop it out. You can freeze the leftovers and make...

    Projection in Journey into Imagination

The projectors are right in front of the cutouts. To achieve the same effect you would create your animation to fit inside the cutout shape and leave the rest of the image black. Just takes a little experimentation.

    Spaceship in Spaceship Earth

I took a picture very near your satellite picture and had some fun with it. My picture: Your picture over my picture: Removing the dark spaces: It was taken from CLOSE to where mine was taken so the geometry is off a bit, but it's really close. The satellite was clearly inside the...

    Spaceship in Spaceship Earth

Great pictures in album 2!! I have some comments: You can see what are probably original ceiling tiles in this picture. Maybe they are all original, but you can see original un-repainted ceiling tiles where the black paint has fallen off after 25 years up there. You can also see such tiles...

    Spaceship in Spaceship Earth

Someone said earlier that they thought the satellite arm connected to the still intact shuttle piece that the girl was/is in. There's a nice plug for it to connect to (one picture shows detail of this connection point) and it would make sense for that arm to have been attached to something in...

    Spaceship in Spaceship Earth

Allright, here is a picture of the inner hatch, notice the roof curve to get an idea of how off to the side it is. You can see the lift right below it (it's partially hidden behind the wall but you can see the top of it just sticking out. Visible to the left at the top is one of the three...

    Spaceship in Spaceship Earth

The inner hatch is NOT at or near the center of the sphere. It's probably closer to the top of the elevator shaft if anything. Look at Marni's diagrams for the elevator (just inside of the space tunnel to the right), imagine the hatch being right above that (at least pretty close). There is an...

    Spaceship in Spaceship Earth

Some more pictures: This is looking into what would have been the big moon scene. You can see the cables from the projection screen coming in from the left. No satellites here. This looking backwards and up just past the projection screen. Notice the mist nozzles and all of the water...

    Spaceship in Spaceship Earth

It's not a boom lift, it's an aerial work platform (it goes straight up).

    Spaceship in Spaceship Earth

You just came out of the space tunnel into the planetarium, if you look at the roof of that tunnel you can see it's not very tall. If you look beyond that you can see the roof of network ops, and it's much larger (higher). Both of these rooms basically hug the perimeter. The lift is on the...

    Spaceship in Spaceship Earth

Actually I think it looks more like this, and this item would probably fit into the freight elevator just fine. http://www.wpi.edu/Academics/Depts/HUA/TT/Setdesign/genie.jpg The hatch is located right above the lift, not offset. I do also recall seeing an odd yellow/orange spool off to the...
