I'm scared about a larger spike for USA for winter 2021-2022 as Christmas too, is really gonna happen or not?For what it’s worth it looks like case growth in FL has really slowed down. Still maybe increasing but at a much slower rate. The week over week change in the 7 day average is up less than 1%. Could be a small plateua or hopefully the peak and we start to see the cases go down again. Here’s to hoping
On a local front our cases look like they have plateaued this week too. Still too soon to call it, but looking better. We peaked at right around 10 cases per 100,000. It’s crazy that we were under 0.5 cases per 100,000. I do worry the winter could be a larger spike but hopefully kids 5-11 are vaccinated and we are well into the boosters for the highest risk people before that hits.
If you are scared get your booster shot after Sept 20 and when eligibleI'm scared about a larger spike for USA for winter 2021-2022 as Christmas too, is really gonna happen or not?
Next month should kids 5-11 will be vaccinating as people getting boosters through October-December/January. @GoofGoof
Kids 5-11 should get approved in October and since the higher risk people were vaccinated prior to the end of April Theu should all have a booster by the end of the year. So that‘s going in our favor, but we need to get more unvaccinated people in and as soon as possible.I'm scared about a larger spike for USA for winter 2021-2022 as Christmas too, is really gonna happen or not?

If kids 5-11 got approved in October, as unvaccinated people will getting vaccinated by Christmas aka Winter then there won't be a larger spike or future spikes anymore by Winter. @GoofGoofKids 5-11 should get approved in October and since the higher risk people were vaccinated prior to the end of April Theu should all have a booster by the end of the year. Hopefully by Winter as we won't see anymore larger spikes like last year anymore. @GoofGoofThe press briefing that broadly touches on what data drove the decision to move towards boosters for all.

Press Briefing by White House COVID-19 Response Team and Public Health Officials | The White House
Via Teleconference 11:10 A.M. EDTMR. ZIENTS: Good morning, and thank you for joining us. Today, the main topic of our briefing is our planwww.whitehouse.gov
That's correct. Moderna / Moderna booster , Pfizer / Pfizer booster. It was easy peasy scheduling online for my eligible now mother for her booster ( Pfizer ) at the pharmacy for next week. Are locations going to hold all of us to that 8 month deal to get a booster? Some may try to get it earlier than 8 months.I'm 8 months on 10/5 for Moderna - our Disney trips starts 10/20.
I'm already bugging my employer about my booster...(I work at a hospital, but not a clinician, so not sure if I'll have to wait).
If you had Moderna, does Moderna need to be your booster?
I either want it 2 weeks before my vacation or I'll wait until after. I got Covid arm last time 10 days after my shot!

Great news, the White House announced starting Sept 20 all Americans vaccinated with Moderna or Pfizer will be eligible to receive the third shot ( booster ).
What you said is true. A lot of Pfizer, short on Moderna in pharmacies.I worry because while Moderna was easier to get way early in the game, I feel like everyone now has Pfizer only, my hospital does!
But my hospital gave us all Moderna in the beginning, so I'm hoping they are figuring that back in.
I suppose when the time gets closer, I will "shop" around and see who has Moderna and just schedule. I don't have to go through work-it was just easier.

I’ll agree, we don’t need the government to dictate every scenario. But, it would be nice if they helped with the tools and information. They don’t even need to do it all. That means states, doesn’t have to be federal, working on how to expose vaccination information from their vaccine registries. Private companies can work on how to deal with cross state multi jurisdiction checking them.I think all the back and forth debate on what’s essential and where vaccines should be required just shows us that a federal vaccine mandate would never work and we’d never get the result we want. I think the current plan just needs to be expanded where we allow the fundamental core of our American economic system drive the change. Many people claim to believe in capitalism and believe in keeping big government away from controlling how businesses interact with their customers and their employees. If a business wants to mandate the vaccine for employees that’s in line with common practice in our society and covered clearly though existing employment law. Slam dunk. For interactions with customers, businesses should also have the right to decide how to operate safely to protect their employees and customers and if they decide that is a vaccine requirement then so be it.
In both cases people are free to decide they don’t want to be vaccinated and just sit out those jobs and those activities. Life is full of choices. Those people are also free to disagree with those policies, it’s a free country. Plenty of people disagree with all kinds of policies. Doesn‘t mean they don’t have to comply.
They say it’s preferable to get the same vaccine for your booster shot as what you got first time already. But, if not available or you can’t get it for some other reason, then you can get the other. Read it here and also somewhere else that I can’t find right now.I'm 8 months on 10/5 since my second Moderna - our Disney trips starts 10/20.

CVS has an option for currently eligible to click a radio button for their manufacturer. In my area, there is one location with Moderna for my wife’s shot. The rest are Pfizer locations.I worry because while Moderna was easier to get way early in the game, I feel like everyone now has Pfizer only, my hospital does!
