Chances with the Delta variant of getting covid is greater than with earlier variants. So cases are likely up relative to what they would be without Delta. But hospitalization are not overwhelming at this time, and at 64% effectiveness against Delta Pfizer is still above the FDA minimum of 50%. But 68% is not 90-95% vs original variant. But so far deaths and effectiveness in preventing severe is still high. (95%)Are vaccinated and or children seeing a large increase in cases? (Not really)
Are they getting hospitalized? (Nope)
Are they dying? (Nope)
As a vaccinated individual (who by the way are the majority) I honestly don’t care about unvaccinated cases unless they start overwhelming hospitals again (the only place I know where that is happening is the Ozark area.) Just like what most of those unvaccinated said about protecting old people last year I am not interested in doing anything to protect them. Unlike the elderly, they are in a disadvantaged group by choice, live and let die.
The latest ( imperfect ) data is from Israel who uses Pfizer.
Vaccine Less Effective in Preventing Delta Variant Infection
Health Ministry says COVID vaccine at 64 percent effectiveness in preventing infections, but experts differ ■ Ministry notes vaccine is still 93 percent effective in preventing hospitalizations and severe symptoms
