I think there was always expected to be a bit of an uptake in cases as restrictions were lifted.

A quick search does show deaths down 70% over the last 14 days with hospitalizations low and steady - a slight uptick but dramatically lower than six months or so ago.

Problem is we're really just at war with windmills here. There has been no indication, even with what we're looking at in the near future in low vaccine areas, that our federal government in the US is going to be mandating vaccines. They've of late become more vocal cheerleaders of the private sector making life more uncomfortable for the unvaccinated. Since certain state leaders won't be more proactive and gentle about vaccine drives in their locales, this was the inevitable next step.

Honestly, I wish the greeters at the big box stores all the way to the hair salons were actually verifying vaccine status and holding the unvaccinated to a mask requirement instead of the mask-free free for all we opened up to a while back. That cat's out of the bag, unfortunately, but it would have been the best balance between "no shot, no service" (bad idea in 99%+ of society) and "COVID's over - but not really."

This is like saying that you should be arrested for not having a flu shot.

1. Yes, the US is better without Polio.
2. I support vaccines, I got mine back in March and April.
3. I support a person's right to chose. This is supposed to be a free America.
4. The Government needs to stay out of peoples personal lives. Some will say it's for the public good, OK, the Government made the vaccine free to all. In my opinion, that's as far as the government should go.
5. Not everyone can get this vaccine for health reasons.
6. Going door to door to "encourage" vaccination or as one suggested, arresting those who won't get one is Government over reach.

I was with you until the first part of #6. I see absolutely no problem with health officials going door to door to talk to people about vaccines. The governor of NJ talked about this in one of his recent press conferences and said that around 50% of the conversations were "constructive".

I’m not really seeing it these past few pages, but is anyone else besides me a little concerned that the infection rates are rising upwards with these new variants? I was in Las Vegas last week and the rates were going up and it was all over the news, but a lot of the people wandering around on the strip with no masks on didn’t seem to pay it no attention. I ask you this question respectfully do you see the rates going up even higher by fall and Disney World going back to more restrictive measures?

I'm scared about the virus cases will get higher by fall. Then we have to go back wear masks and social distancing until next year.:eek:

Are vaccinated and or children seeing a large increase in cases? (Not really)

Are they getting hospitalized? (Nope)

Are they dying? (Nope)

As a vaccinated individual (who by the way are the majority) I honestly don’t care about unvaccinated cases unless they start overwhelming hospitals again (the only place I know where that is happening is the Ozark area.) Just like what most of those unvaccinated said about protecting old people last year I am not interested in doing anything to protect them. Unlike the elderly, they are in a disadvantaged group by choice, live and let die.

Nope. I'm fully vaxxed, so for me personally, this whole covid crap is over and done. I am sick of people still cowering in fear and crying over it. I cannot tell you how amazing it feels to be at Disney this week mask free and living life again after a year of sacrificing and following suggested guidance from the "experts" only to have those same people crying that we need to continuing being worried about variants. It's asinine.

As someone who has waited for WDW to go back to normal then go. (Trips in August and early November) I’m very concerned restrictions will be back and one or both of my trips will not be mask/restrictions free

should I cancel?

polling for The Economist shows some Brits support anti-covid restrictions *permanently*, regardless of covid risk. Inc: - 19% for nighttime curfews - 26% for closing casinos and clubs - 35% for travel quarantine - 40% for masks

It will be less restricted and more "normal" by then, than it is now. The only restricted part will be how far your dollar stretches.
