Rumor Muppets to Take Over The Hall of Presidents

The kids who KNOW about the muppets love them. There will be like 7 kids out of about 150 who actually know anything about them. But those 7 kids are hardcore fans. I have a little kid in our camps named CJ who has a collection of puppets at home and his favorite attraction is Muppet Vision.

Just because kids aren't exposed to something doesn't mean that thing doesn't appeal to them. It just means the advertising team isn't doing a great job, or parents just aren't introducing their kids to Muppets.

Didn't they bring back Muppet Babies recently?

The Tweet about The Muppet Show and the rumor about Muppets in HoP *could* be related in that Disney's making a concerted effort to push The Muppets as a profitable IP. One doesn't cause or get confused with the other. But both could be correlated with advancing Muppet presence in the parks and on the streamer. This could be just the pesky human tendency to assume causalities between two events that don't exist forgetting some other "thing" is the cause of both events.

The Muppet show was always intended for an adult audience. Sesame Street and The Muppet Babies cartoon were obviously geared towards children, and then they obviously began to focus on a wider audience (Muppets Take Manhattan).

The more recent reboots seemed to be Disney searching for an audience for the Muppets. Nostalgia for the parents, classic Muppet humor for adults, but family-friendly content. It seems like Disney keeps trying to do something with the property to keep it relevant and expand its appeal, but I’m not sure it has a lot of cashet with young people today (not saying it can’t).

Taking an IP they want to inject new life into and attaching it to a show they want to inject new life into seems like an odd move.
