Fireworks? Yep, it's happening, but not how you think.

It’ll look great on the brick wall of the gym with flashlights in lieu of synchrolites.

Well, at least that but is apropos at commencement.

Seems like an easy way to buy goodwill, especially since I doubt they will be able to or want to use 6 inch or larger shells. If they are paying the techs already, shows using cakes, candles, and comets would be very cheap. Smaller aerial shows wouldn't even be that expensive.

1.3g pyro is very nice if you want to get "small" fireworks, most of the castle effects are 1-6 dollars a pop at public wholesale pricing. Even the good 3 and 4 inch shells are around 5-10 dollars a pop. Most of the cost for Disney's shows is stuck in those large specialty shells that are 2-3 thousand feet away from the viewers.

I can't wait for all the noise complaints that will result from this.

Why can't fireworks happen anyways? If they want to eliminate crowds at the castle hub then don't put projections or castle fireworks. Just bring back WISHES for the meantime. People can watch it all over the park and the surrounding resorts.

You weren't inside the Star Wars Hotel weeks ago, and they weren't continuing design projects during stay at home orders. But what you're saying here makes sense and would be a kind gesture by Disney. Is it true? No idea, but hope so.

What do you think those big chrysanthemum shell they shoot Behind the.castle cost? I notice they usually shoot 2of those at the same time.

That sounds like a logistical nightmare TBH.

How many folks would also show up if word got out? The school bus loop / parking area would be overwhelmed. Using low level pryo might not even really work here depending on parking lot and building layout. Then you have to make sure distances allow for this and then get permits since your not on Disney property at that point. Don't forget insurance requirements from the school / county.

Unfortunately not true. I have two kids at WHS that are not seniors, but we would not be able to see them from out house. MK fireworks I can, but from there I can’t.

You continue to say things which give detail into your identity. Given that you've posted purported leaked documents and information that is almost certainly part of NDAs (if real), I really hope you've lawyered up. You've happily volunteered that you work for a vendor that applied to work on parade floats, you've been in the Star Wars hotel when nobody was allowed, you told how often and for how long, you are contracted to do so (design work on speaker and light placement), and now you're telling how many kids you have and where they go to school. If this is real info, you should stop putting this out into the public domain. If this isn't real info, the same is still true for different reasons.

That makes too much sense

So @WDW Pro can choose to believe me or not. But I just heard that Disney is working with local schools in the area to provide fireworks for virtual graduation celebrations. Meaning people will be able to stay in their car, near the school they are graduating from, and watch a fireworks display.

So the fireworks display is at the school or from the Disney launch points?

I have signed a few NDAs, nothing I have said on this board is covered by any one of them. I can assure you I am very careful in what I talk about. Anything I say on this forum is either coming really soon, or has already been talked about. The far reaching stuff I will not mention.

Also, you spoke about grains of salt a few days ago. I will leave a salt packet that says "Pro" on it in the hotel next week sometime. It will be in the first floor utility room that is currently used as a makeshift break room. I will put it behind the standpipe in there so hopefully it stays until you get it. Please leave something there for me so I know you were there.

No need. The aerial photos posted on these forums from the days you claimed "design work" was ongoing showed that you were not honest, and there were never any buckets of salt left in the parking lot. If people want to follow you, that's cool, but you lost me when you started saying zany things about being inside the hotel (when illegal) to help pick where speakers and lights go.

Also, there is no "makeshift breakroom" in a utility room (great place to put a break room during construction... you know, literally where the most electrical work would be), Disney construction partners don't allow break rooms inside ongoing, new construction projects, and there's nobody there for there to be a breakroom anyway.

That’s a cool idea for Disney to get involved with. My cousin’s kid graduated this year and her school had a virtual graduation in the parking lot of the Parx Casino (just outside of Philly). They have several large Jumbotron style screens facing the parking lots so the casino let them use them and all the kids and families stayed in their cars. It’s pretty cool to see local businesses help out in little ways to make things at least a little closer to normal.
