Droid Depot Reservations Hollywood Studios

I noticed from forums lots of people were able to book Droid Depot. I could find plenty of times but every time I went to confirm I’d get the message “something went wrong, please try again” . I tried maybe 8 times before giving up. Most of these were for the same time but some were a few minutes earlier or later... all same error message. Given the $100 no show price tag I don’t want to be out 800-1000 dollars for a no show on a reservation I didn’t know I had. Is it safe to assume if I got this error message each time, that Disney has not made a reservation with my credit card details anyway? It’s not showing on MDE nor have I got an email.

My best guess is that the reservation did not go through, so you won't be charged anything. I made a Droid Depot reservation yesterday afternoon. After selecting date and time, I put in my credit card details. The next screen that came up was a confirmation screen noting the date, time and confirmation number. I then received an email containing all of the details.

If you get that message, check the says around your trip. That happened to me as well and only on the days my resort was booked. I called in to Disney, told them what was happening and asked for guest services. The first CM cannot help you, but guest services can book it for you. Too me an hour on hold though.

The system is a complete mess. There are no more reservations to Oga's Cantina for the full time we will be there. I was able to snag a reservation to Savi's and the Droid workshop, but it took all day. Also be aware if you do Savi's that light sabers can't go on a lot of rides, so we opted to wait until the end of the day for that experience.

The system certainly went into meltdown. But just because Oga’s is fully booked doesn’t mean the system is a complete mess, just means all times are booked. 😉 Keep looking though, register for Touring Plan’s reservation finder, times were dropped each day up until today (haven’t seen reports of new times yet).

I hadn’t seen that about the light sabres, is that in the small print?

I asked on their chat system if the light sabers could go on all the rides at DHS, and they said no, but I could have my light saber delivered to my resort room for free at the end of the experience if I wanted to. That's why we opted to do it later in the evening, giving us enough time to walk over to the night show before leaving the park.

Do you think a reservation to the Droid, Light Saber or Olga's ALSO gets you into Galaxy's Edge afterwards? Or do you think you have your reservation and then are automatically escorted out of Galaxy's Edge when finished?

So far there is nothing to suggest any time limit on visiting SW:GE except for the previews. As soon as DL stopped the reservation system they lifted the time limits. Once you’re in you can stay all day if you so wish.

The notes Disney has all over it's website suggest they plan on limiting capacity (probably just to fire code) and a hotel stay in an onsite hotel does not guarantee you access to the land. To me, that reads similar to park access during the heavy holiday season, so I'm ASSUMING that having a reservation somewhere in the land gives you a better chance of admission to the land if the land gets near capacity. Like if you have an ADR in MK on Christmas Day and there are phased closings, you're in a later phase than someone with just a park ticket.

We already know that a reservation for one of these activities will guarantee you entry to SW:GE, even if the Land is technically at capacity.

In other words, they will allow for the reservations in the calculation of capacity. They’ll work on averages, plus some contingency to allow for those who stay for eight hours.

Thank you. When I initially booked my WDW stay, I never thought SW:GE would be open by then. Surprise!

My last 2 days are 8/29 and 8/30. I have an evening "Olga's Cantina" reservation on 8/29. It would be great it I could take in the land after the drink without being ushered out.

I cannot imagine, that they are going to escort you out of the land after the experience, so you should be good to go

I have a quick question about reservations, all 5 members of my family want to build our own droids. It says you need to have individual reservations for those who want to build, so we will need 5 individual reservations. My children need someone with them, but if we're all building at the same time, can we just be in the room with them or do we need to be with them every-step of the way and then build our own?

I do not know what the official policy is, you would have to ask Disney CMs or someone who has gone with children.

But given the factory layout I think it would be possible for all droids to be built together. I went with a group and we each built our own and were next o each other when selecting the parts so you would still be able to supervise your children while building your droid. See picture below, but you can all stand next to each other when selecting the pieces.

The second step is more tricky since it is an individual experience to finalize and boot up the droid and drilling is involved. For that part the adults would have to observe first, supervising while the children do it and then you can boot up your droids last. There are 4-5 booths side by side so 2-3 members of the group can go at one time next to each other and the remaining adults go after.

I actually just went and looked it up because of this and then made a call. I then cancelled my reservation and rebooked because, there is a 2 person limit per reservation, they said because of space, it is extremely strict, they said they would not even allow you to have a baby in your arms as that would be a third person. We had three reservations, one for DD,DS and DW, I cancelled DW, so each one of us could be with one of the kids, they also stated that only THE ONE with the reservation can build the droid, no helping out the maker. Maybe someone who has gone can answer, we go on Sept 15th and cannot wait

They said that is what the Team members are for, I asked that specifically

Hopefully they'll be good. I've read some reports that mention being ignored by the CMs at the build stations.
