News Bird attack at Disney World leaves woman with traumatic brain injury

Thats why I asked. I know there are people hoping to walk on easy street with some Disney cash. But there are also examples where Disney knows of issues but doesn't immediately inform guests.

Look at all the instances of Bedbugs in resorts. They should inform people before checking in.
Wait...are you implying that Disney knew about bed bugs in rooms, never sanitized them and rebooked them? I know there are many that feel "nickel and dimed" to death, but if that were true and word got out, there would be a backlash and uproar by guests. Disney wouldn't know about bedbugs unless a guest brought it to their attention. If they receive a report that there were bedbugs, the room is shut down and sanitized before it is reused. Disney has no obligation to volunteer the fact that there were bugs in there and is now fit for usage.

y'all making fun of her when it very much may be true. Its not like a Florida man didn't die from a bird attack.

Yeah, but that wasn't a "bird"... that was a BIRD
That bird kills 50 or so people a year, it is not native to FL.
You'd think they would have stopped it after the first couple of kills... what is it, some kind of... wait for it... illegal avian?

The majority of people are not making fun of the woman, as much as her desire to blame Disney for the actions
of a bird. The bird in your story appears to be about the size of an ostrich. It was more of a pet that someone was
responsible to contain. That is not even close to this situation.

So, which will Disney do?

a. Settle this thing and write her a check to make her go away, because it's not worth their time and money to fight.
b. Actually fight it in court for fear of setting a precedent about just how much they are supposed to warn people.

b. Disney hates warning signs.

It's not time and money for Disney they have lawyers on staff getting paid no matter if they have something to do or not.
Agreed...and based on the reactions from the majority of people here they have no worry about bad PR from this incident. The “victim” very much comes off as just interested in a quick payday. Disney can’t just start paying on every one of these cases or the line of “victims” will be down the street and around the corner.

My thought would be try to have the case dismissed first. If that doesn't work, settle quietly and get it out of the
new cycle, as soon as possible.

Is there any new information on this bird^brained caper. It does seem irresponsible for Disney to not have clearly defined flight paths/schedules for all Winged wild life in the open spaces of a theme park. Just unforgivable!
There won’t be anything new for awhile. That’s a pretty wild overstatement of what the suit is about though. I think the plaintiff is alleging that Disney knew of aggressive behavior by nesting birds in the area where she was injured and should have warned her so she could have avoided the area or been on the lookout for possible problems. Apparently Disney did close a part of Adventureland because of this same type of issue, although it’s not clear when that happened.

The closing of Adventureland (I thought) was last month. The bird attack happened 2 years ago. The news of the lawsuit broke shortly after the closing (maybe a week?), which made my internal alarms go off and makes me wonder if an attorney approached her about her injuries. The timing just seems too funky.
