It’s Raining Pixie Dust!! Full Trip report 9/3-9/10

Don’t be sad that it is over- be glad that it happened!

The cast - for those that didn’t read my pre-trip report, or my pitiful attempt at a live one.

Me- Disneyshe
My husband DisneyB

This was our second ever trip without either of the kids.

We always have loved to go to WDW on our anniversary but this was the only trip we were by ourselves. Our actual anniversary was a few days before we left but this was still our Anniversary trip. We have been married 26 years this year!

We booked a standard room at Coronado Springs with free dining-

We headed out around 8:30 pm on September 2, because I am a horrible rider. Seriously am probably worse than a 2 year old. I just hate being in a car and always have. It makes it much easier on not just me but also my husband because he doesn’t have to hear me complain for 8 hours. He sleeps during the day on the day we leave and I at night so we can go straight at it when we get there.

We usually get there right as the sun is coming up but we got there a little early. I had ridden down in pj bottoms, no makeup etc. because I was going to try and sleep. (Which I did, almost the whole way, a first for me) Anyway I was so hoping there was a room ready because I looked like I slept in a car for sure. I stayed in the car while hubby went to see if we could check in- I had told him any section I did not care, if one was available. So he calls and tells me that they have a King Preferred room in Casitas 1, I of course, said take it.

We had never stayed in the Casitas before because we liked the Cabana area so much and usually requested it. So we drive around and go to our room on the second floor. Scan the band and walk in...... to a Living room!

I had looked at the rooms many times, we would have chosen there over Old Key West last year but it wasn’t available with the free dining and a 1 br Villa was a good bit cheaper anyway.

I wish there could have been a hidden camera or something because I thought we had went into the wrong room number. I even said this isn’t right, how could our bands have opened this door. The TVs were on too, and it just threw me even more. I tipped toed around to the bed area, hand over my mouth almost afraid someone was going to yell at me for being in their room. Looked again at the room number on the map- then flat out started bawling!! This was our room!!! We have gotten upgraded from standard view to waterview before but this was nuts. Disney B said no wonder the lady that had checked us in was grinning so big. I don’t know if it was Anniversary pixie dust or luck being so early, or just a really special CM but the trip was off to an amazing start and I will never forget how awesome it felt to stand there in a room that nice that we were basically gifted with. I was and will always be so thankful for the enormous sprinkling of Pixie Dust!

Arrival shot - notice last year’s Lei from Ohana still hanging over my visor?

The room-rooms are huge! It was so nice to have 2 bathrooms no waiting while one showers gets ready. I loved that!

See those happy smiling faces kicked back on our couch?? :)

It was still so early so I showered and got ready to head to DHS!

We made it to the ticket counter at DHS about 8:30ish. We had already decided to bump up our 8 day park hoppers to APs again. We just wanted to make sure that it would not affect our free dining. It did not, and we had memory maker as soon as we switched to APs. We always buy memory maker, so looking at the savings of the 169 pre purchase price that took us down to 530 dollars for both of us to upgrade. Not bad at all! We paid that just for the Backstage Magic tour in 2015.

I had made fastpasses for RnRC, ToT and (not typing the bad word that this ride spells) Alien Swirling Saucers. Who let this one pass through? I mean they know regulars shorten the names. Wasn’t Monsters bad enough?

Anywho, moving on we headed to RnRC, and the wait was a whopping 5 minutes, in other words the walk in. The pre-show room was maybe half full. I don’t think we needed a super-stretch. ;)

So we got off came back around, and it was still 5 minutes. Ride again, we shall! For the 3rd the wait was still like 10 or so but I didn’t want to let the fastpass expire so we used it for the 3rd ride in a row.

I love loops, so this is one of my fave rides, not to mention I adore Aerosmith. I do however, think that they should update the video because they definitely do not look that way anymore.

Then it was off to ToT! I used to be absolutely terrified of this ride and everyone in my family got so much joy out of me freaking out. I got over it and love it now. They still love it too, but think they are disappointed that they don’t get to laugh at me being so scared anymore. It said 10 minutes, so we rode it once standby, then used fastpass. It was a half empty library both times.

After completing 5 rides so quick, I was ready to see Toy Story Land!

It felt so weird to see Pixar Place all walled up. Then we made the turn and here we are!

By the time we walked around, and came back to Toy Story Mania- the wait was 25 minutes (it wasn’t that long) so we got in line.
At my photo limit so will continue in next post.

After another drop in Tower, I wanted a Derby Cosmo, so off to Brown Derby Lounge we went. My absolute fave bartender wasn’t there today, but we would catch up with him in a few days. This Cosmo, was good, but it was not an Orlando, from Brooklyn, Cosmo.

I went into Brown Derby, to go to the bathroom, but most importantly to snap the photo of Club 33 here.

Then it was off to Mama Melrose Fantasmic package.

I didn’t use to be a fan of this restaurant but I used to always order steak. This is not a place to get steak.
I got the tomatoes and Mozzarella for an appetizer and we split it. I love tomatoes, and basil. Usually tomatoes from a restaurant have no flavor. These do, they are not like from my garden but they do have flavor. Very good and the mozzarella is very fresh. Basil, is just basil. Delicious!

After we ate we did some shopping for little fella and then took in VoTLM. (I still love this show) and headed around to do Star Tours. We also took in the Star Wars show and I think did ToT again, before we headed to see my favorite night show Fantasmic! I loved Wishes, and I enjoy Illuminations but this is my favorite must do. I still did not get to see HEA up close, it just never worked out right, but we will do that in a few months.

With that it was back to Coronado! The Hubby had been up since 8:00 pm the night before, and that room and king bed sure did feel good. We still strolled a little before bed. Going to sleep after 11-
Then up and at it for Crystal Palace ressies at 8:25 am.
Miles walked day one and a few night pics of the resort.

While the baby is napping going to try to do day 2.

Side note here, on the Gigi front-
We didn’t get home til like 8:30 at night so it was too late to see him. :( His sweet precious daddy was good enough to drop him off on his way to work! I usually do not have him on Tuesday so this was awesome.. I was waiting at the door! I hugged my big boy then said Scooter!!! (My nickname for him) He grinned like the Cheshire Cat and into my arms he went. My heart melted. I had put all of his loot on the coffee table and he was so cute, saying Wow, over and over. He loved everything but the Pirate ship was the biggest hit. And he got to spend the night! :) I missed him so much!

Now on with day 2 -

I was really afraid the getting up early was going to hurt when the alarm went off but, it is surprising what a little pixie dust can do for the worn out. That and coffee!

There is just something about driving thru that MK sign that I love! It always used to be our first park but our first solo trip a few years ago, I decided to switch things up so that I adjusted to not being with the kids.

I did not take any shots of Main Street because the days of the emptiness are gone now that they moved the opening show. I still say there was way more Magic in the anticipation of waiting to get in. Not a fan of the new way. :(

I love Crystal Palace breakfast and I am so glad we decided to do it again. The food is great and well, who doesn’t love Pooh & Friends??

This 3 year old at heart sure does! If I ever get too old to not get so excited at my fave characters, I hope the Good Lord takes me out of this world.

I wanted to try a breakfast mimosa to say I had one, but I could not talk myself into alcohol at 8:30 in the morning.

A slow MK up next...

After we finished breakfast, I was headed to my favorite ride. Splash was down last September and I was more than overdue for a ride. On the way, we snapped some very dead pictures. (We did not rush breakfast at all so it was probably like close to 10, when we made it through. I even went to the bathroom before heading on. 😮
Pixie Dust continued to rain down on us!

Rode Splash twice standby, walk on. Maybe it is because we missed it last year, but everything so good AA wise, paint wise.. it just looked fresh! Love the guy behind us cheesing in our selfie lol

Walked to Big Thunder, 10 minute wait. Rode it twice! Then it was off to HM! Standby said 10, straight walk into the stretching room. From there back to Big Thunder and Splash to use fastpasses.
That put us at 7 rides after a long breakfast at CP. so what next PotC says 10, again walk on!

I do not get the point of this ride photo. I am telling hubby, it is right there, as it snaps. Would people that do not buy memory maker actually buy these pictures lol?

Anyway, after that it was off to do Space Mountain, our last fastpass, which, again we did not need.

The exit across train tracks was weird, and it seemed like more lights were on. Still a blast though.
All of this before lunch, and lunch was going to come in the form of F&W snacking...

So off to Epcot.

My first order of business, was getting my AP magnet. It was at that point that I realized I had not had anything to drink since breakfast. I have high BP, since I was 21, runs in the family, but hit me early during my first pregnancy. I have to take a beta blocker and a fluid pill every day since then. I always drink a ton of water at home, I didn’t this day. I felt like I was going to pass out. Got 2 waters and chugged them, and felt human again. For the remainder of the trip I took my fluid pill at night. ~spoiler, this was a very small, and the only bump in the road this trip) Pixie Dusted trip, I am tellin ya!

And onto the World Showcase and food! :)

We stopped by Australia where we got the Grilled Sweet & Spicy Bush Berry Shrimp to split & I think a Chardonnay for me.
The shrimp was good but more sweet than spicy.

Then it was off to Canada. Hubby wanted a Mossehead. The cups are smaller this year, he was not pleased, since it is his favorite beer.

We got the filet and soup to share. I love the soup but as good as it was it made me sooo hot eating it lol!

Next stop... a supersize Grand Mariner Slushie!! I actually had 2 not gonna lie. I have a high alcohol tolerance apparently but I always eat with a drink. Hubby had a 1664.

Then we went to booth to try the new Beef dish and we split a Passionfruit Martini.
The beef was good but not as good as last year’s Beouf Bourginon. (Sp)

It was pretty darn good! Very spicy with tons of celery seed. I loved it.

The wait for Soarin’ was like 10 minutes, we used FP, then rode it again!

Next a boat ride and Figment- followed by a walk back to Cape May Cafe for dinner.

I love Living with the Land, I can ride it over and over. I think a lot of has to do with that my son was in FFA all 4 years of high school. We live in a very rural farm community and it is a huge deal here. His last year he was President of his chapter and one of his responsibilities was watering the greenhouses on the weekends and during the summer break. He always took me with him. I was very lucky to still be as close to him as I was during those teen years. We are still that close but I so miss those days of just he and I in those greenhouses, watering all the veggies and flowers.

With the sentimental moment over- on to some pictures!
